Welcome GJ, it seems that more and more people are taking the Pepsi challenge lately.

Personally, I still migrate all around, but this site is definitely my favorite.

I wonder if this is just a regional thing, because I haven't seen this promotion here in Seattle yet.

I'd buy a Most Excellent pizza from Pizza the Hutt just for the DVD any day.

That was pretty funny though Josh.  You sure had me fooled!

Well good.  8)

Dispite the totally fictional numbers next to the statistics, I bet the real life percentages aren't that far off.

Yeah, my "stats" were a joke.

I'm glad I was so convincing with them though.  :)

There's only one good thing about AOL... it's what brought my wife & I together.

Hehe. Ah, yes, an internet dating success story. Keep in mind that for every couple like you two that met and married after meeting on AOL, there were also:

51,566,482 online meetings that seemed promising...but never produced a real life meeting.
9,443,291 people that met online and decided the other person looked NOTHING like they described once they finally sent that picture.
5,098,222 online relationships that failed after they met in real life.
1,170,224 actual 1st dates that never produced a 2nd date.
729,002 married people that cheated on their spouses with the people they met in the "Singles" chat room.
10,043 Guys and Gals that met their special someone online and proceeded to stalk their new love to the point of a restraining order
5,201 Pedophiles that used AOL to meet a nice underage boy or girl.
2,031 Pedophiles that used AOL to meet a nice undercover cop posing as an underage boy or girl.
1,042 people that met someone whom they are happily dating
520 couples that met someone who they are happily dating and plan to marry.

If you liked the Saga Begins, you'll probably love his new parody of Billy Joel's piano man, which gives the same treatment to the Spider Man movie.

It was great to hear him FINALLY do a Billy Joel song.  :)

Poodle Hat is a great album, and I highly recommend you go pick it up. It's got some good parodies of Eminem and Nelly. The Avril Lavigne, Backstreet Boys and Billy Joel songs are excellent. The polka medley is comprised of just about every Alt-rock band on the charts last year and this year, and the originals are great too. Track 2, "Hardware Store" is among my favorite Weird Al songs of all time already. There are also some style parodies of both Prince and Bob Dylan. I think this album will please both the casual and die hard Weird Al fans out there, and is definitely worth your 15 bucks.

By the way...if you BUY it, instead of downloading it....you'll get 8 alternate tracks which are remixes, instrumentals and vocal mixes of the original tracks on the album. VERY fun for Karoake. Plus you get some Home movies of Al's childhood, which he changes around with his narration.

And Matt...I am SO jealous. That's AWESOME. I've been to dozens of concerts, but never scored the elusive backstage passes. I did manage to meet him a few times outside the shows and get autographs, but it's always been in a crowd of autograph and picture seekers.

So...don't forget to ask his people for tickets for me at the Seattle leg of the tour too.....Hehehe. (Yeah Right).

Either way, I've got my tickets and I'm headed there in September. So far, his only date anywhere near Seattle is a fair 60 miles south of here. The grandstand tickets are free with fair admission, or you can buy the closer ones (which of course I did).  Weird Al concerts are definitely my favorite concerts out of any artist I go see. I'd go so far as to trade Weird Al tickets for Pearl Jam (or any other lesser artist) tickets in a heartbeat.

One year, we followed his band around on tour like they were the Dead (I think I saw them 9 times that year).

So, in summary....while my opinion may be biased, I highly recommend Poodle Hat to all of you.

GO BUY IT!

And if you can't afford Cable or DSL (or it isn't in your area) at least get off the AOL bandwagon. Try MSN, or Earthlink....or better yet, the local ISP in your town.

They'll all be better than AOL was.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What are your collecting goals?
« on: June 23, 2003, 04:30 PM »
My goal for the last 7 months has been to finish opening and set up every single one of my figures. Alas, I still have a bunch in the packages, and I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I want to hang the rest of my ships from the ceiling (I already drilled the hooks and everything) ....and when that's done, I'll be pretty close to finished.

THEN...I can worry about what to buy again.

No, Josh, I put a bit of a different spin on it here. I tend to elaborate more in my posts here for whatever reason.  But I know what you mean, sometimes I pass on making duplicate posts on the same topic in different forums. It's one of those things I wrestle with every day....

I'm sure the struggle is as epic as mine is.

There is one important difference. It's very easy to keep track of which site I do all my arguing on.  That can stay over there. Until I get banned like Cory.... ;D

I'll see it at a matinee. Maybe next week. After negative reviews have knocked it down a peg or two.

I'm really not that interested in watching a larger, greener Jar Jar smash a bunch of tanks.  I already saw the Ferris Bueller version of Godzilla a few years ago, so I know how it's going to go.

It was funny because people and topics were being discussed at length, and they had no clue...  Like being studied like labrats

I hope that didn't have anything to do with me calling everyone complainers.....if so, I'm writing a follow up paper to yours.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Clay Aiken!

Good call, although disturbing that you know the name of his song already.

How many seasons of Idol before no one cares anymore?  For me....it was 1.

I'm sure that Carrie here would have no idea what you're referring to there Josh...

No, of course not.  ::)

I think she definitely got the worst of it (at least that I can remember), and it was probably largely due to being one of the only ones to post a picture. That's really too bad. I know there were a couple of other people subjected to it as well. I remember posting in those threads telling people to get a life and such before they were closed down. I mean....seriously. It was like a pack of geeky construction workers that had never talked to a girl before or something. Made me embarassed to be associated with the group...and I definitely didn't want to subject a loved one to the same sort of treatment.

We may be wolves, but I don't think that we're really lame ones at least...  Tell her to stop on by!  We'll play nice.

Fair enough. I shall do so....

CC...did you just copy and paste that from Rebelscum? Hehehe. I always feel conflicted about whether or not I should answer questions here that are also over there (like this thread). I had the same dilemma over at GH.

I figure most everyone is reading both threads anyway.

But for those of you that didn't see the other thread....mine is just a picture of my collection. I used to update these weekly, and I may start doing that again one of these days. I'm thinking I need a picture of my battle droid army. It's growing to gigantic proportions.
