Scored the Clone Wars set the other day, and the Crimson Empire set  yesterday.  Can't wait to see what the holo Emporer looks like out of the box.

Would it be wrong to print up a bunch of black armbands withRS printed on them for C3?

Be more blatant about it.  Make up t-shirts that say REBELSCUM SUCKS.

DON'T STEAL MY MOTTO!!

Meh, you stole it from Primus anyway.

I can't say that I was happy to receive this email either, and I think that the situation has been handled poorly at best. Rebelscum, like it or not, is a business. It is a website designed to attract hits and charge for advertising based on the activity and hits. Part of being a business is maintaining a good relationship with the people you do business with. I have read disturbing reports of belligerent emails from the staff to readers who have been displeased with this matter. The readers are Rebelscum's customers, and berating customers with legitimate complaints does not constitute good customer service by any measure.

I received the email in question, and also wondered why I found this in my email inbox. I registered for my account in 2002, and I do not recall being given a choice when I registered as to whether or not I could choose to receive promotional emails or not. As a rule, whenever I register at a website I prefer to keep my personal email information private and when given a choice about such matters, I opt not to receive such emails. I like so many people using the internet value my privacy.

Additionally, I heard that some of the responses from the staff of this website stated that if people did not wish to receive promotional email that they should have stated so upon registration. Looking into things from this standpoint I chose to examine my own Rebelscum profile. And what I found was peculiar. My profile showed that I had never made a choice about whether or not I wanted to receive promotional emails. As I mentioned before, had I been given the choice I would have opted not to receive such emails. This begs the question of when was this option offered to Rebelscum forum members if at all? I think that it's a legitimate question.

I for one am irked by the email, and additionally disappointed by the response. I think that at this time when the final Star Wars movie is about to be released, the collecting community needs to regard each other with respect and courtesy in order to maintain any sense of cohesion in the future. And the websites that serve that community need to respect the people they serve.

My two cents worth in Princess's thread.  I figured I would quote myself here since the thread is likely to be locked or deleted, and I want my comments to stand for some to see.

Counting down to my banning.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Kids and ROTS (SPOILERS)
« on: April 5, 2005, 11:44 PM »
My point is, is that this stuff is 100x worse than anything thats been in any SW movie and people I think are thinking its going to be like the other 5

I agree that it's all going to be harsh.  This is going to be THE MOST violent Star Wars movie of all.  No doubt about it, it's lining up to be that way.

The thing that I'm wondering is this:  will George treat it such a manner as to make it "cinematic" and mildly acceptable, or will it be outwardly brutal?  I think that's the fine line that this movie is going to straddle.  That could make this movie a tough sell as well.  At least to kids.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Kids and ROTS (SPOILERS)
« on: April 5, 2005, 01:22 PM »
I think  Scott has a very valid point.  I've started giving my 4 year old nephew some Star Wars items, and he's starting to get into it a little.  Thing is, I've seen the immolation image along with the shot of Dooku with his hands cut off.  There is NO WAY I want my nephew to see things like that at his age, even if he's only a year younger than I was when I saw ANH.  This is much more violent, and pretty inappropriate for young kids.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Holo Yoda?
« on: April 4, 2005, 01:09 AM »
I received an e-mail from Amazon today that my Holo Yoda order has "been delayed".  Suddenly, I am very nervous that these are suddenly going to be sold out, leaving a lot of less than happy collectors...   :(

Strange.  My order is due to get to my house on Wednesday.  Well, if there's any kind of a goof, I can rest assured thanks to the one Holo Yoda I got at the Times Square TRU today.

Other Collectibles / Re: Unleashed Again
« on: April 3, 2005, 01:20 AM »
The Unleashed figures were the first thing I picked up last night.  And boy, did they go fast!  The Unleashed line has really caught on in a big way it seems.  I've yet to open them up, but I'm looking forward to it in a big way.

Royal Guard (blue) X 4
Royal Guard (red) X 2

Count Dooku
Chancellor Palpatine
Emporer Palpatine
Mace Windu

DELUXE
Anakin with snap-on Darth Vader armor
Emporer Palpatine/Darth Sidious
Grievous
Force Jumping Obi-Wan

BARC Speeder X 2
AT-RT X 2
ARC-170

TARGET CUPS w/ FIGURES

WALMART Carrying Case w/ Anakin Skywalker & AOTC SA Clone Trooper

Unleashed
Anakin
Obi-Wan

There were a couple of things I was hoping for, like the Clone Pilot, AT-TE Gunner & Mas Amedda,  but they weren't to be found.  Probably in a week or so, I guess.  Basic Figures seemed limited to around #32 around here.  But I think I spent a fair ammount today regardless, don't you?

Wal-mart.com has the Early Bird sets.

Good.  Because the two WalMart's I've been to in the last 10 hours didn't.

Gentle Giant / Re: Gentle Giant Busts
« on: April 1, 2005, 05:02 AM »
The Vader is definitely a ROTS rendition.  It's the pose that's remarkably different, not so much the helmet.   Vader is posed with his lightsaber held in front of him.  The chestplate is the ROTS look, and the robes are underneath the shoulder piece, unlike the way the costume was worn in ANH.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Looking Back...
« on: April 1, 2005, 03:20 AM »
I think the progression of Anakin from good to evil is what makes the PT a tragedy of sorts.  That along with the slow decay of the Republic and the political intrigue are what make the PT interesting to me.

It's funny, because I saw or read an interview with Lucas recently.  He said that he got the feeling that a lot of fans wanted the entire PT to be basically what happens in ROTS.  I thought about it a bit, and I can see that doing so, as some fans might want, would seriously compromise the entire saga.  It would almost make the entire PT like some kind of slasher series of movies.  It would be much more one dimensional and ultimately not as interesting.

I think when all is said and done, the PT will stand up much better after ROTS is released and the PT can be viewed as a whole.  ROTS will be the payoff that people have been waiting for.  But it will have happened with Anakin Skywalker taking a complete journey, and not him being a mindless murderer.

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: April 1, 2005, 03:04 AM »
Marvel Legends still needs to touch on the grey Hulk as he appeared before the debut of Mr. Fixit.  While we have a good origin grey Hulk, Mr Fixit, and an Ultimate Universe grey Hulk, I want to see the grey Hulk from when Banner was recombined with the green, savage Hulk.
