What's funny is that I managed to get the last post in before Phillip deleted the thread.  Did my comment put him over the edge? 

I never realized how much of a pill he is, so I think I'm also going to transition (back) to Jedidefender.

Gotta say, its sort of sad to hear these comments.  I think no matter what, RS is going to be THE forums for SW and if you guys just cut and run because of idiot newbies you're only doing  a disservice to yourself.  If you don't like the posts or posters, don't reply to them.  Or, better yet, assert yourselves and set the newbs straight.  I've noticed a lot of people are claiming to move exclusively here but if you do that the idiots are going to just follow you.  I've noticed it here already that there's a few spelling and grammatically challenged newbs.  You're all better off just taking a stand at RS.

And, this is a little pet peeve of mine.  If a newbie poster (or anyone for that matter) puts forth a badly spelled or incoherent post, don't reply!  Just let it hang there like the piece of nonsense it is.  There's no motive for people to change their use of English if you treat it like it's valid and coherent.  Just let stupid and poorly worded posts hang there, let the idiots post pad with dumb comments but you don't have to enter the fray.  Hopefully, they'll either leave or brush up on their use of English.   You don't have to help the helpless.

That's actually one of the neater customs I've seen in a while.  I see all sorts of things like "oh yeah, why didn't I think of that".  Very well done and finished looking but at the same time there's all sorts of things that I'd do different but that's just my style more than anything.  Very neat version of the cancelled post'85 playset.

The foots good, I was actually working on this when I did that.  I must have hit a nerve cause I've had a numb area on the top of my foot since it happened but it seems to be getting smaller and smaller with each week.

Thanks again everybody.  As to molds, I'm certain that making one would be far too problematic and costly.  There could be products that I'm unaware of, but to do a mold with RTV rubber would probably be over 200$.  I'm not sure if this is the silicone you're thinking of MasterYogurt or not.

Keep up the great, great work.

Styrene is available in a lot of different thicknesses, most of what's seen in the bridge is very thick .060" (about a 1/16 of an inch thick) but the interior curves are made with sheets that are barely thicker than paper. Its just a matter of choosing between ease of use or structural needs.

Quazar- I probably won't make the other half unless someone would commission it, I tend to make very few customs for myself anymore due to lack of space in my apartment.

Thanks everyone, I'm glad this was so well received, it was a pleasure to make and it came out very nice.  Just wish I had more of the custom Imperial Techs made, I had to fill out the pit from the fodder bin.  BTW this should ship nicely, its square and has no movable parts.  Its a far cry from some of the projects I've sent out in the last year or so.  You could probably hit it with a hammer and do nothing more than dent the paint.

I'm just going to bring this up but I see that jokabofe is currently the high bidder on Phruby's clone.  That might not be a good thing.  I don't think its happening but others might see that and the other charity auction by jokabofe and think something hinky is going on (it kind of looks like the bid is being run up).

Also, weren't these auctions originally intended to specifically help Darth Ennis?

Just my two cents, I don't think anything is wrong, just wanted to put it out there.

Well he is in that presentation flipbook that Kenner used to sell the idea of more star wars figures. You should see some of the droids that are pictured too. There is one of 4lon without a head holding up a gun with two 2-1B arms coming out of his sholders. I plan on making him someday.



Yeah, I'm not so sure now.  I went to ToysrGus to see what he had written but it wasn't in the flip book info.  It might be on a different page.  I could have sworn that someone at Kenner made the Mongo as a goof or a deliberate attempt to throw people off the trail.  Or perhaps as just a test to see what could be done with different parts, I don't think it was ever intended for release on any level.  I find it highly unlikely they would have used the head with the neck peg sticking out or to have used the name Beefhead (Walrusman and Hammerhead aside).

That artwork was actually ROTJ concept work for the Imperial Guards.  I think it shows up in a few books, the Art of ROTJ for sure, though.   Isn't  the beefhead figure a hoax or joke of some kind?  I don't think it was ever a serious attempt at a figure.  Could be wrong.

Yeah, I finally got an avatar to work here, lots a little squat though.

As to mass production of crates and barrels.  I've considered it but I'd like to take stock of what the toys have to offer us before building anything.  I know some crates came with the vintage Dagobah playset, some with the Dagobah XWing, one with the POTF2 scanning trooper and I think I'm missing something.  Some of those we (customizers) could probably pull casts off of.  If I were to build anything I think probably some of the small money crates that Han is using in ANH and probably some of the beer keg like barrels seen on the Millenium Falcon and (I think) the Death Star.   Maybe we should make a list.

I took a look too and I think a lot of the stuff may be available elsewhere.  I know I've seen the bricks, camo netting and chain link fences in the Verlinden catalog.  Definately at 1/35 scale, not sure about 1/18 scale though.  Owen D
