What a cad! If he pulls this stunt at RS it's not going to be pretty; it’s boxing glove central there as it is.

Here’s a question, isn’t it kind of un-Jedi to manipulate an individual’s destiny like Obi did? Seems pretty insidious to me… what gives, is Obi Wan in cahoots with Nancy Reagan?

The Original Trilogy / Re: Favorite Imperial Officers!

Tarkin, Peter Cushing was a big part of my entertainment as a kid- watching many a Hammer horrors on sat. afternoons, so it was very cool to see him in Star Wars.

Without delving too deeply into Code3 product accuracy or price range, both of which are laughable at best… I will say that I detest a company that will cry to Lucas’ lawyers to get another micro companies’ superior products off the market. Let me reiterate- not too long ago there was a small garage kit company out of Canada producing accurate, beautifully cast, large scale and AFFORDABLE models of various SW ships/vehicles. Now before getting into the copyright issues of such venture, let me assure you that Lucasfilm knew about this outfit and they were cool with it as long as the stuff was never massed produced, in fact an employee at ILM had purchased some of the kits… I guess they weren’t upset since the quality of the products was top-notch and the producers were really not making a huge profit at all; they were doing this more for love of the hobby and a service to science fiction modelers. Now, a few months ago, this company announced they were going to produce a 1/48 scale Millennium Falcon! How sweet would that have been!? SW modelers rejoiced and were foaming at the mouth for this Falcon… then those pussies at Code3 got word of this and bitched and whined to Lucas about the "other" Falcon model, that was about 8 times bigger than theirs and accurate, not like their sub-par little die-cast ‘toy’.  To wrap up this sad story- Lucas was backed up against a legal wall and they had no choice but to send them a cease and desist letter, now this company can no longer make any great SW kits and it doesn’t look like we’ll ever see the fabled 1/48 Falcon, you can also kiss their Outrider goodbye, the 1/48 AT-AT, 1/6 Probe Droid and all the other very excellent kits they manufactured. Well that’s all, I just had to rant.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Micronauts......
« on: December 19, 2003, 04:27 PM »
Micronauts are fantastic toys! If you are into them, consider Takara’s new line, here’s some pics from the upcoming 2004 releases:

MF2-01 Skymaster

MF2-04 Automaster

AX-14 Biom

If you’re into just the retro style they also re-released a bunch a couple of years ago, as well as some new variations like the elusive Crystal Mode Robotman(Biotron)

I feel Takara’s offerings are a little higher quality than Palisades, although both companies have made some great figures. It’s a real shame that Palisades discontinued the line, I was looking forward to their Female Acroyear and vehicles.

Although I wasn’t thrilled about this live action attempt when I first heard about it… this trailer looks awesome!
