Yes, I am certainly in communon with everyone else praying for you.  Be strong my friend; the Lord will provide.  Thank goodness you have such a loving family!  Your son is very lucky to have you as well!

I ordered this saber, but the article mentions an Obi-Wan dark chrome saber from ANH.  I'm thinking this is a misprint, and they are actually referring to the Obi-Wan saber from CIII.  Does anyone know about this?

Watto's Junk Yard / Batman Begins

I know there is already a thread for suerhero flicks, but I had to start a thread on Batman Begins.  This was an absolutely incredible film!  To me, it was quite possibly the best superhero movie ever made.  Bale was perfect as an intimidating, disturbed, and morally complex Batman.  His voice when playing the Dark Knight was intense, and the film had a flow and pacing that hardly had me noticing how long it was.  Between this and ROTS, we are having a landmark summer for movies!

I'll pass. Anyone else in need of it though? I may be able to help...

Help as in pick one up for us? If so, count me in buddy!  I'd be happy to send you the money.  Since I met you at CIII, I know you have an honest face.  ;D

Yes, the Vader III is available on pre-order from Target with a scheduled ship date of 8/15. They do not specifically announce that it is the E III, however, I believe that a quick glance at the picture of the item definately shows it is not E IV! Ironically, it is not yet available on MR's site. Let me know if you have any other questions.

It is the Vader ROTS .45.  Here is the link:
The only thing about this saber is that it is never in the film.  That makes me a tad reluctant.

Just read on Scum that the MR rep (Amy) said there will be more .45s coming this year. Obviously we have the Yoda, Sidious, Vader, Dooku & CC exclusive BSC Anakin coming but I wonder if we'll see others.

Pardon my duh-factor, but what's the BSC Anakin?   ???

I didn't realize the EIII Vader is available for order.  Is this on the MR website?

Thanks psu189, and welcome to the boards!!

Shannon, hang in there my friend.  My Grandma is a cancer survivor, and one of the strongest people I've ever met.  The support and love of family and friends really does help, and never underestimate the power of prayer.  Here is a favorite quote of mine:
Do not fear what may happen tomorrow.  The same loving Father who cares for you today, will care for you tomorrow and every day.   Either He will shield you from suffering, or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it.  Be at peace then, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginings."
St. Francis de Sales

Be strong, and be brave.  We're all rooting for you!!

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Can Sith Beat Titanic?

I'll have to piggyback on what Brian said, everyone I have talked to (and I am not shy  ;) ) has said they love the film.  I think people really like that it wraps everything up so nicely.  I have heard some criticism that Anakin agrees to become Darth Vader a bit too quickly (I can see where people would say that), but I still haven't heard too much sour about it, except on some boards.  Right on if you don't like it, as you are certainly entitled to your oppinion (of course!).  I loved it, myself.

Having said all that, I would agree with Jesse James that Episode I soured a lot of people.  A guy who used to run the comic shop I frequent said he would never see anything by Lucas ever again after seeing Menace.

From the AP:
Topping the $300 million mark in its 17th day of release Saturday, "Revenge of the Sith" became the fastest film to hit that level, beating the record set last year by "Shrek 2," which passed $300 million in 18 days.
At $308.8 million through Sunday, "Revenge of the Sith" was just $2 million behind the total domestic haul of "Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones." 20th Century Fox expects it to top $400 million and possibly rival the $431 million domestic total of "Episode I The Phantom Menace," said Bruce Snyder, the studio's head of distribution.

Even though it stinks that Madagascar replaced it, these last two paragraphs sure made me feel a lot happier. 8)

Brent - Over at Scum in the "Ask Amy" thread, she confirmed the Maul for '06 and it looks like it'll be where you can buy 2 of them and attach them to make the full hilt. Pretty kick ass.

Oh man, that will be amazing!!!
