The Prequel Trilogy / The Circle of Survivors
« on: December 14, 2013, 09:55 AM »
The new TRU Jedi packs had me looking up the fate of these characters during the battle.   Does anyone know who the dead Jedi is in the circle of survivors close to Kit?  The one that Obi-Wan walks up to and checks his pulse while he's dead on the ground.  Not Joclad Danva.

The last couple years I have been noticing a figure swapper striking at my local TRU.  Kind of annoying when I see a wave put out, see the package of a figure I want, only to find a POTF2 figure swapped into the bubble.

The last couple months it really heated up.  Every week, every other week, I'd find 2 more.  I started turning the figures into Customer Service everytime, explaining what to look for, gotta say, they could not give a ****.  I said to them, one of these times I'm gonna show you these figures, and you'll say, "Yeah, that guy just returned those 30 minutes ago, I know who that was!"  But no they didn't really care much about possibly stopping them.

So today I am in there and find 2 more swapped out.  This time, I show the manager.  It took him a minute to understand what was happening, only after I put 2 of the same figure side by side, showed him the swapped one, and the real one.  The take home message?  "Nah we can't really do anything about that."  Actually he seemed kind of impressed how the swap was so flawless and seamless.

So there it is.  Showed everyone from customer service to the store manager.  Nobody cares.

If I were the manager, I would say, okay, CSM reps, for the next month anyone who receives a star wars figure return, call me over.  They would have this guy in 1-2 weeks.

But I am telling you they just don't care to stop it, and quite frankly, actually seemed kind of impressed.

Perfect trade with Force Guy, item as described and shipped really fast.  Proof that cats and dogs can bond over little plastic space men.

Trade with FG with confidence!  A+

Well, I've got about half of my figures up onto twelve 8 ft. shelves:

I am going to have to pack them in more tightly or finish the basement to get the other 2,000 out!

The Vintage Collection / Hasbro's factories
« on: December 29, 2011, 07:48 AM »

I was just perusing some of Sithfire30's work, and stumbled upon his stormtrooper helmet for 1:18

WOW!!  He really hit a homerun with those.

Hasbro has never, in all of it's many chances gotten even close to this.  They did great with the Gamorrean and Ackbar and others, but their stormtroopers all SUCK.  Just look at the garbage we got compared to what Sithfire30 was able to accomplish.

You guys see the difference right?  I feel like this is the most overlooked, under-discussed issue.  The iconic stormtrooper helmet has always been a bust.

God as my witness I am going to sculpt and cast 100 of these and fit them onto all of my stormtroopers.  The newer bodies have been good, just the helmets have been awful.  It's going to take a while, it's going to be hard, but this has to happen.

Other Toy Lines / Street Fighter 4-inch figures!!!
« on: September 23, 2011, 02:56 PM »

I'll take one of each thanks!

I'll also be looking for the Mortal Kombat counterparts.

We're coming up on issue 3 of Fear Itself soon.  As you know, in almost every major Marvel event in the last 5 years, a Marvel character is offered up to the Gods as sacrifice.

Secret Invasion - Wasp
Civil War - Goliath
Dark Reign - Punisher
Shadowland - Bullseye
Siege - Sentry, Ares
2nd Coming - Nightcrawler
World War Hulk - (Did anyone officially die?)

Place your bets for Fear Itself here:

I think decent chances go to Odin, Sin, Juggernaut.  And for some reason today, Spider-Woman popped into my head.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / and Clone Wars
« on: May 3, 2010, 12:01 PM »
Does anyone know why is like 4 waves behind on The Clone Wars?

They used to be pretty good, but they haven't gotten anything in the last few waves.

I finished up a 3 3/4" custom of Mystique today.

I've not too swift with a camera, so these will do for the moment.

I used a base figure of Ms. Marvel Carol Danvers, some paint and a snippet of my wife's wedding dress for the soft goods (shhhhh don't tell).

Just completed a successful transaction with blimpyboy, and so should you.

Great trader!!

Nothing available at the moment.

Did Hasbro finally get the stormtrooper helmet right?   :o

As far as I'm concerned, when it comes to clones and stormies, the helmet is the most important part of the figure.  It's got to look good, and be proportioned correctly.  Hasbro nailed the Ep II clone helmet with the SA clone, which was it's 2nd try after the sneak preview clone.

Observe what a stormtrooper helmet should look like:

Have a gander at the new spacetrooper figure:

In the same wave however, take a look at Han and Luke's helmets:

Crap (Luke):

More crap (Han):

How is it, in the same wave, you can have 3 different stormtrooper helmets, 2 of them obviously standing out as fecal matter, while the spacetrooper shines?!

The spacetrooper is about as good as a stormtrooper can get, and finally we have one that looks just about right.

Thanks to 4 inches:

I don't mind getting more AT-RT's, but the camouflage Bacara is a boneheaded choice.  I'd still buy the pack with the wasted figure though, still a good deal.
