Well of the Souls / speculation
« on: August 27, 2007, 03:34 PM »
I'm really looking forward to seeing this line on the shelves. Will I buy it? Maybe just an Indy or 2 and the occasional bad guy. UNLESS they go all out and make Temple toys galore. That's always been my favorite Indy flick and i'd love to have Indy, Shorty, Willie and a Mine Cart. I've also kill for a good Mola Ram from the heart removal scene... What i'm really looking forward to are the higher end 12" figures. I'd be all over an original Indy and a Nazi Uni version...

Joe Defender / G.I. Joe Toys Thread
« on: August 27, 2007, 09:35 AM »
Not necessarily toy related, but it sounds like as far as the movie version of G.I. Joe is concerned, he will no longer be a "real American hero".

Also, we hit the new Super Target we have in town this weekend and I noticed at this store at least, they were charging $7.99 for the single packed Joes.  It must be an abberration, because I've seen them cheaper elsewhere.  They did have plenty on the pegs though, but at that price, I'm not surprised.

Wow, Target here is only $5.99 while Walmart is $4.88 and Kaybee is $6.99...

Damn Jeff! Good thing it wasn't a Fett or Parco Sandtrooper.  :P

I've actually have had the same problem with 2 different 400% Boba Fetts. The glue just gave out completely leave the edge split. Now I haven't done any repairs yet but anyone have a tip for a good glue to use?

Kubricks / Re: Series 8
« on: August 23, 2007, 05:00 PM »
I cant beleive they still have not shown anything.

My guess is that they are going to dump series 8 and 9 back to back which is a BAD IDEA. They've never shown so much at one time before so it must be what they're doing. My guess is 8 will be out around Nov/Dec and then 9 around Dec/Feb...

FINALLY!!!  ;D

Well, it's about damn time they announced what they're doing with this thing. While I am ticked that it's not the GG gift, I am happy it's through a decent source and shouldn't be too hard to obtain. To quote Wayne's World, "it will be mine, oh yes it will be mine."

I wish they had just sold the Mynock mask as an accessory.  :P

I thought that too but this is a different sculpt so that's even better IMO...

Anybody remember House?

HECK YEAH! I remember my Mom taking me to see 1 and 2 in the theaters. The cast in 1 is just priceless. I picked those movies up back when Anchor Bay put them out together in one case as a LE deal. It's out of print now but I love it...

As for me, I just picked up Dexter: Season One @ Target w/the bonus disc and I have to hit Best Buy up on the way home for The Dark Crystal: 25th Anniversary...

EE has pics up of the next 5 pack.  We've seen it at Comic Con I believe, but just thought I'd pass it along for those who are interested.

Where is that Black Cobra Commander from? I'll probably pick up the 5 pack just for him...

Other Toy Lines / Re: Collecting Interests: New or Nostalgia?
« on: August 15, 2007, 10:30 AM »
Good topic!  ;D

As for me, nostalgia is a big thing but I have to limit myself because they throw so much of it at us. My have very fond memories of my childhood and reliving that is great, I just can't wait to share it with my kids one day. The nostalgic stuff i'm collecting:

The Dark Crystal - my BIGGGEST weakness in nostalgia. This movie means a ton to me and I buy anything I can find related to it. Thank god for Plan B and now MINDstyle for keeping this property alive...
Star Wars - i'm 99% all OT with exception of Wookiees in PT...
Pee-wee's Playhouse - my favorite show as a kid. Hopefully NECA will release more reissues or new figures in general...
GI Joe - I tried to get into this line with other reincarnations but got bored, now with the 25th Ann, i'm rediculously hooked...
Transformers - I was always a HUGE Optimus fan since G1 so i've stuck to collecting anything that relates to him in the G1 era...

I do collect newer stuff and pretty much limit myself to specific lines but as the same with my childhood, it's all TV/Movie related and pretty much all cartoon based. The stuff i'm collecting now is Futurama, Family Guy, South Park, Milk & Cheese, Hellboy...

Went with the girlfriend to see Incubus the other night. It was an alright show, at least the seats were good, 6th row center.

I can't fathom to see Incubus now when I used to see them in clubs the size of people's basements back when they were good. They are amazingly talented musicians that have let being on the radio limit themselves. Such a shame...

I'm currently reading: Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers. It's really interesting to learn the history of what happens to the human body after death and what really happens when a body is donated to science...

I just got my Wookiees set and while i'm impressed, I was a little aggrivated that when you nest them, the feet are all left over...

This line is pretty cool and I dig 'em. They look to be competing more with vinyl stuff like the Dunnys and Qees than with actual Kubricks. I'll definitely be getting Chewie and maybe a few more...

Around here, the stores don't require you to buy anything so I just get the toys. I've done this for a few of their promotions and at multiple places too. I can't wait til the Simpsons stuff hits, i'm tired of going to 7-11 everyday for sandwiches and Squishees in their promotion.  :P

Ahh, found some old pics of my collection, sadly some of which is gone...

I've since gotten rid of all my SW exclusives/chases except for Indy...  :(
