The Vintage Collection / Re: 2025 TVC Cantina Adventure Set

Thank you so much for the heads up! Not sleeping has paid off  :)

Consensus around the various sites seems to be a lot of us missed the Pulse pre-orders.

For myself, I was able to add the multipacks to my cart at 1pm ET, but couldn't pay and check out. I figured that was because I didn't have premium, but may have been a different error.
While spamming refresh, I could see that both packs sold out. After it hit 2pm ET and there was no change, I removed them from my cart in case that was creating a bug for myself and others.

Hopefully these are relisted tomorrow when the web team gets into the office.
I feel really bad for the folks who are paying for premium and didn't get these. That Sandtrooper pack was gone before 20 mins had passed. Not sure anyone thought it would go that fast.

I suppose today would have been the ideal day to get Premium.

Sold out!   :o

I'm a little shocked no other retailer picked up this army builder set.
Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will have cancelled an order by the time I can check out  :P

Looks like this set and the HTTE set are listed as 'sold out' on Pulse now. I missed the 'low stock' alert  :-\
In my head, I was debating whether or not ROTS Anakin was worth $50, since we so recently got CW Anakin and many many Vaders.
It's funny how a red 'sold out' icon can clear up your confusion real fast.

Hopefully this means sales were strong enough to warrant more stuff like this in the future. I loved the Evolutions sets from back in the day.

Looks like SM-33 is back on Amazon. I ordered one to see if I could experiment with some paint myself. At $8, it's worth a try.

The knees don't bend.  :-[
I feel slightly hoodwinked, but I suppose I should have investigated a little more. My fault.

Still looking forward to seeing how that Rex fits in with other lines.

I had been on the fence about the Boba/Jabba Throne Room playset on Pulse but noticed it go to 'low stock' and bit the bullet.
It arrived today and I have to say, it's a huge upgrade to the paper POTF2 setup I had before. Also, it's now listed as 'sold out' so I'm really glad I didn't drag my feet any longer.

I know there's a lot of "hasbro could do xyz better" with almost any product, this one included, but there's something about the Vintage Collection that just feels right.
The box art is enchanting. The size is of the set is great for displaying in a bookshelf. Not to mention, they used its appearance in new media to get us something we wanted from the OT for so long.

I forget if it was SAGA or OTC, but there was that wave with Rappertunie, Tanus, and Luke that just feels so much more complete now with this place to display them all.

The Vintage Collection / Re: TVC and Tariff Pricing

It does seem there was a pre-tariff price hike of some sort. I really like BBTS and have used them several times this year to catch up on all the TVC I could, so I don't want to be disparaging.
However, a few weeks ago I ordered one of those Heavy Battle Droids from BF2 and it was $9.99. Now it's $11.99. I doubt they are paying an import fee now for a figure that has been on a clearance sale for weeks.
Noticed the same with the Peasant Disguise Anakin and their own BF2 Arc Trooper. Looks like a $2 increase across the board, clearance items included.

I will support the hobby as long as I can. Having recently gotten back in, I already had to mentally adjust from paying $7.99/figure to paying $16.99/figure.
What I don't want to happen is that BBTS, EE, and others like comic shops have to raise prices now while Amazon weathers the storm and siphons the customer base away.
I just lost my 2 closest Gamestops and only 1 Walmart by me regularly restocks TVC. Amazon can be great, but I don't want a future where they are the only reasonable option.

Wow!

Looking at those photos makes me wonder if the Epic Heroes line could morph into something like the 30AC or Legacy line down the road. Those look significantly more appealing than the first iteration of 4inch figures. And coming from someone who took a long break since the antenna-clone era, looks more familiar too.

That prompted me to take a look at some of the other lines and sure enough, some of the Solo movie products were also made in Vietnam.
While the 'Solo' Millennium Falcon and basic figures were made in China, the Enfys Speeder, Han's Landspeeder, AT-DT, Tie Fighter and their accompanying figures were all Vietnam. The 2-packs seem to be Vietnam as well, except the C3P0/R2 pack.

Those sculpts and paint applications weren't bad at all, just the articulation was lacking. They remind me of some of the POTJ figures from 2001. Especially that Enfys Nest figure.
With that being the case, I wonder where the Cantina is being produced and distributed from.
Maybe TVC can be shifted over if this mess doesn't resolve quickly. If that's the case, however, we will probably have a lot more to worry about than TVC.

Thank you Jeff, Dave, and Muftak for the info!

I don't have access to the Sarlacc Pit, so I apologize if this shouldn't be posted here.
My question is, I had heard that Hasbro moved production into Vietnam and India. Theoretically, if tariffs are 'paused' would that mean Hasbro can avoid this 100%+ trade war, or was the Vietnam/India news more PR than actual production?

This week has been an emotional and financial rollercoaster.

The Walmarts by me are odd. There are 3 within a short distance that I've been checking regularly.
Luckily, the closest one seems to be stocking about every week or so. I picked up the Tatooine Luke wave a few weeks ago and have noticed it replenished at least 3 times.
Unfortunately, the next closest Walmart has had empty pegs, except for a lone Fennec and Ahsoka for a few months. They also have those extra security tags on them.
The 3rd Walmart did not restock after the Osha/Mae wave, clearanced them shortly after Christmas, and now doesn't have TVC pegs at all.

Wish I had gone into Toys R Us to take a look around one last time before they closed up shop, but I was out of the hobby and didn't even know that was happening  :-\
One of my fondest memories from collecting was Midnight Madness April 23, 2002 at the Tustin, CA Toys R Us. The guys that got to the pegs first were handing figures back to all of us like a bucket brigade, and some just asking "You got this one yet?....ah screw it *toss it in your cart*"

Maybe I should drive up and pour one out on the curb for the anniversary this year.

Well, looks like both of my local Gamestops will be closing by the end of the weekend  :(
I stopped by and picked up a Jetpack Trooper at one and the Blurrg at the other. Cheaper on Amazon, but I figured I'd make my last fan channel brick-and-mortar purchases memorable.

How are the brick-and-mortars doing by you guys?
