Kubricks / Series 5

I bit the bullet and picked up a Stormtrooper Luke off eBay.   :-\

With that purchase and the make-up Vader Chase that is in the mail, I just need to track down a good deal on a Stormtrooper Han Figure.

Anyone have an extra?  ;)

Nataku has gotten me a little bit into these but I refuse to be a completist.  So far I only got: Fett, Sandtrooper, Han Carbonite, Stormtrooper and Vader.

I'd love to get one of those 400% Fetts or the Medicom Vader, Fett or Stormtrooper.

Are my only options eBay on these?

Hi Rod,

Yeah, eBay or Asian e-tailers are pretty much the only source for these as Medicom won't ship their Collector Club exclusives outside Japan.  Hopefully the release of another 2,005 400% Boba Fetts will help the price come down a bit - but I'm sure they will still be hot hot hot on eBay.   :(

Good luck in your search and welcome to our little Kubrick corner.  Just don't let those few I got you hooked on drag you all the way down like so many others before you...  ;)

Ten Numb actually does have a new sculpt torso.  I'm sure they'll look nice all displayed with the others, though.
:)

Oh.  When I looked at him, I thought it was the Bossk Torso with Nien Nunb Head/arms/legs.   :-\

If he's "new" that's OK I guess, there's just a lot of other Kubys I'd like to have seen before either Ten Nunb or K-3PO.   :(

Hmmm.... can't say I'm "thrilled" with the Box Set.  Last year, we got Spirit Ben, Bespin Han, an Ewok, and two popular Astromechs (Imp R2 and R4-D5).

This year, it's Yavin Luke and 4 re-paints I could have passed on.   :-\

At least last year's box set had a few new sculpts, this year looks like all repaints.  Don't get me wrong, I like the Yavin 4 Luke, but K-3PO in Kubrick form = meh.   :(

And Ten Nunb?  Huh?  Where's that "vintage flair" that Medicom loves so much?  At least 4 of these guys (Luke, Ten, R4, K-3PO) weren't even vinty figures and Romba is pushing it.

I'll still end up with it for sure, but I can definately take the patience route this time...  ;)

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Carded Wedge, finally!
« on: July 22, 2005, 04:00 PM »
This looks good. But at 12.99 it's a little tough to swallow.

Well then...

Wedge for $9.99 plus $4 shipping - plus, only $1 more in shipping for each additional Wedge you order.  2 shipped for $25, 3 Shipped for $36!

Case of 12 Wedge for $109.99 plus $9 shipping - that works out to $10 each including shipping!

A group of locals and I went in a case together and we get our Wedges for $10 shipped - that's a great deal better than $23 shipped from SWShop or $20 shipped from EE!   :o

The absolute coolest part about the upcoming 13" Scale DC Direct Hal Jordan is the removable mask!

Now, THAT is cool - a removable mask on a 12" scale figure and you can't even have any little holes on his face!

I have one of these.   :D

I have one of those too, but I store it in the camping stuff away from the rest of the collection.  :P

The Flash - SEE ABOVE COMMENTS ON GEOFF JOHNS.  I never thought anyone would top Waid's run, but I LOVE what Geoff has done for Wally.  It's an absolute fantastic book and my second favorite (behind GL) at the moment.

This is one book I've been thinking about picking up.  I've always been kind of a fan of the Flash, but never really had the chance to read the comic as much as I would have liked growing up.  Glad to hear that it is recommended, might have to swing by the comic shop this weekend and pick up a couple of past issues to see what its like.

The Flash is currently on part 4 of a 6 part story.  If you can go back a few issues (3-4) and pick up from there it's a fantastic story.  Basically the 1/2 of Flash's Rogues Gallery that have "gone" good are fighting with the "still evil" half of the Rogues.

It's all out mayhem with Wally in the middle trying his best to control it all when an old friend from the past (future?) drops in to cause chaos!  A great story and a great over view of 10-12 of Wally's biggest villians!

This is the one I want.

Dang, this thread is making me want to order some of those DC Direct figs.  And not just the women.

Here you go:

Green Lantern Series I Figure: Hal Jordan - $11.99 plus shipping

He's a great figure, I just picked him up 2 weeks ago when I purchased Kilowog and Parallax.   :)

Here is my current subsciber list at Krayz' Comics:

Batgirl - this one has really grown on me.  She's not Barbra Gordon, but it's been pretty good lately with her move to Bludhaven.

Batman - I can never leave the Bat.

Detective Comics - The City of Crime story is OK, but it's kinda dragging on.  12 issues is a loooong time especially when 1-2 issues get delayed.   ::)

Gotham Central - I love this book.  A gritty "Cop Show" type of comic about how the Gotham Cops deal with the Bat.

Gotham Knights - Eh, I'm reading this one out of Habit now, I really should drop it since I'm tired of the Hush nonsense.  :-\

Green Arrow - Glad DC brought Ollie back - hard to believe it's been 4 years!

Green Lantern - Thank you for Geoff Johns.  That dude flat out knows how to write comics.  I love his take on the newly resurrected Green Lantern Hal Jordan.   ;D

Green Lantern Corps: Recharge - Hasn't started yet (September), but I am so looking forward to the return of the GLC to the DCU.  About time!

Infinite Crisis - Hasn't started yet (October), but I'm really looking forward to this one to see if they can top CoIE.

JLA - I usually grab this one on and off, depending on the story and the fetured characters.  When it was Waid or Morrison, it was religiously, but now not so much.  I am hooked on the latest story line - the link between Identity Crisis and Infinite Crises.

JSA - Another Geoff Johns book.  I will most likely read anything this guy writes because he knows his Silver Age and mythos like the back of his hand.  Fantastic writer is the most important to me, I don't care how great a book looks, if the story sucks I hate it.   :-\

Nightwing - It's kinda floating in a strange direction now, but I'm hanging in to see where it ends up...

Robin - See Nightwing = new creative team = adjustment period to see if I like it

Teen Titans - SEE ABOVE COMMENTS ON GEOFF JOHNS.

The Flash - SEE ABOVE COMMENTS ON GEOFF JOHNS.  I never thought anyone would top Waid's run, but I LOVE what Geoff has done for Wally.  It's an absolute fantastic book and my second favorite (behind GL) at the moment.

That's pretty much it for me.  No Marvel anymore, no Star Wars anymore, but I can't leg go of my DC.   ;)

Why would you bother starting a thread like this ::)  Don't these fit just as well with the DC Direct figures?

Any female GL's out there?   :P

Let's see thee was Fatality, a GL-killer who hunted GL for revenge:

And GL Villianess Star Sapphire:

But no 7" scale female GLs though.

Anyways, look forward to seeing what your collection looks like. So, do you read the GL comic as well these days?

Absolutely.  I don't read too many comics anymore, but Geoff Johns is one of my favorite writers.  When they brought him on to re-launch GL and bring back Hal, it was like 10 years of bad DC History disappearing.  The finally figured out that going from 3600 to 1 GL was a bad move, they slowly added John and Guy back, now they're moving to a 7200 member GL Corps in September!  Woot!

As a kid, the alien GLs were always so cool to me (probably the ANH Cantina Scene to thank for that ;)).  I'm sooooo glad they are being introduced to the comics again!

Fine, I will go start my very own Green Lantern thread

And I'll check to see if I have an extra one stashed still...
