Revenge of the Sith / Re: Clone Trooper #6 - Worth Army Building
« on: April 9, 2005, 03:00 AM »
I'd pick one up, if I wasn't so picky.  I think I'll wait for the SA version for now.  And #6 is everywhere here in Iowa, except at Target, where he's the only figure you can't get.  Besides the Red Guard.

I'd be happy with either the ROTJ retro Hayden spirit, or a holographic ROTS Anakin.  I don't mind the exclusives so much, so long as they're not hard to find.

The Evolutions set looks very nice.  The Battle Packs blow.

The Vader on the operating table is what I've been looking forward to most, out of everything.  I can't wait for him, and I'm sure he'll be the hardest to find.  Or maybe that clone, because he's pretty neat too.

All you guys buying uber amounts of clones: do you plan to buy that many more if they do color variations?  Probably a silly question.  And where are the color variations anyhow?  If I were them, that Quick Draw Clone would have come in three or four variations.   I know there's a yellow version of the commander I'd like.

I found #33-36 today at WM, bringing my haul up to:

Clone Commander
Clone Pilot
Palpatine Saber Surprise
Tarfful
Anakin Robes
Obi Wan Jedi Kick
Padme
Agen Kolar
Mace
Count Dooku
Grievous' Bodyguard
Royal Guard

Anakin is amazing.  I'm buying two of him for sure.  I'm thinking his tunic is attached to the inside of his cloak, and it all comes off together, revealing the cripsy version beneath.

I found #33-36 at WM today, and I was very excited.  I love the clones, and Palpatine too.  Grievous not so much, I left him.  Palpatine had the blue saber.

Spuffy's Pathetic Army (as of 4/6):

2 Wookie Warriors
1 Grievous Bodyguard
1 Clone Commander
1 Clone Pilot
1 Blue Royal Guard
1 Red Royal Guard
0 Clones

I am not worthy!   ;)

I don't get it either.  I suppose the nostalgia factor of Luke is nice, but not thirty dollars nice.  Though if you want an EB kit and all that, I'm sure it's worth it.

The Red Guard is the ONLY figure here you can't find.  Besides #33-40, but we haven't gotten any of those yet.  I want to WM today and they had multiples of everybody, #1-32, except for the guard.  I've never seen this any of the other two launches.  There were always figures you couldn't get, even the day after.

For my 1000th post:

I went to WM with my cousins around 11 PM and somehow managed to be the second, third and fourth people there.  They had yet to stock the shelves and we watched as they did.  Met HMI, which was real nice, and met a lot of other nice folks.

My haul:

Obi Wan Jedi Kick
Anakin Robes
Tarfful
Mace
Padme
Dooku
Agen Kolar
Bodyguard
Blue Guard

It was a lot of fun, and I'm bummed it's the last one.  Enjoy your toys!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Spuffy Publishes!
« on: April 1, 2005, 02:12 PM »
Thanks a lot, guys.  This is why JD is the best place around.   :)

I am shopping my first novel (really my second, the first is shall we say... a disaster) around while I continue to write the new one, and also I have some other short stories out there circulating.  It's so hard, but this is all I've ever wanted.  I feel like finally I'm making some headway.

As far as the sale of the story, yeah, it's a fee up front and then some royalties, provided there are any.  They're sending me the contracts soon.  My first contract!   ;D

I've sold my first short story!   :o  Read about it here.  I'm so excited.  Finally, all that hard work is paying off.  Now if I can just get this book sold... been close a few times, but no joy.  I guess if I keep banging on the door, they gotta let me in sometime.  Or maybe they'll just call the cops.   ;)
