The Force Awakens / Re: Force Friday: What are You Buying?
« on: August 27, 2015, 09:35 AM »
So...1 week from tonight the Madness kicks off. At this point people seem to have a pretty good idea of what will be out there (exclusives aside). Curious to hear what folks are planning for that night. Solo runs? Group thing?

I'm still struggling to come up with a sensible plan for that night. TRU is the obvious first priority just because of the exclusive 6" Blue Trooper. But that's also the store that is most likely to be overcrowded because of the limited locations. I feel like if I had some reasonable level of confidence that there will be plenty of the blue troopers to go around I would prefer to start elsewhere and swing by around 2 or 3am after the hubbub dies down. I don't want to risk not getting that thing though, so it's a tough call at this point.

There's only 1 Target around here opening at midnight so that one is likely to be mobbed too I think. At least there you've got a better shot since getting to the actual toys requires a footrace through the store and I'm confident I can outrun all those fat sweaty nerds.  :D  I definitely want to get the 6" TIE Fighter there given the $25 off any purchase over $100 deal.

Walmart really seems like the best option IMO. They have lots of different stores around here and they almost all stay open 24 hours anyway. They also tend to stock around 10pm so ideally one could get there early and score those hard to find figures without the hassles of waiting in line for hours on end.

What do you guys plan on doing?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Fear the Walking Dead

Agreed, all the cliched junkie stuff grew tiresome quickly. Too much afterschool special. With only 6 episodes I had hope they would hit the ground running a little more.

I would have to assume all these people are now dead by the time the current show airs. Unless they suddenly got a lot smarter.

Took til tonight to get excited, but I'm ready. I'm really hoping for something along the lines of the first half of World War Z. Great Panic and all that, maybe even the Battle of Yonkers.

Will there be toys?

Grabbed the last Rebels TIE @ Walmart for $13, an R2/3PO Mission Series 2-pack for $4.98 @ Target, and a couple more Vizago/IG-RM 2-packs @ Kohl's for $10 each. (That is cheap for kohl's)

Doing my best to help clear the pegs for FF.  ;D

Just an FYI I've seen the RV at some of the Targets around me for $50

Thanks for the tip! I actually found the RV set at a local a Target tonight, along with the Boiler Room set. I ended up only buying the latter, but will definitely be going back for the RV soon.

The 2 Rebels Mission Series packs
The Y-Wing Scout Bomber with Kanan
The 5 new 6" figures
The TRU exclusive 6" Blue trooper
The Target exclusive 6" 2-pack (apparently this will not be out on FF)
The Walgreens exclusive Emperor or Vader 6" figure (if it is out yet, they are hinting it will be)
The 6" scale TIE Fighter

I would eventually like doubles of the 6" stormtrooper, but I think 1 per customer is the cool way to go for MM.

Bought another Phantom at Target yesterday for $12.48.

Ok, I saw the full catalog, you can't get rid of anything on the Internet thank God.

Really happy to see there will be Rebels stuff for me to buy. Just no single carded figures apparently. cool to see the Y-Wing Scout Bomber in OT colors.

I guess all that talk about there being 9 new 6" figures was just speculation?

What is it, seriously? :)

Edit: NM, I see it was the Scout Bomber, good choice.

At least Kanan has a new head sculpt.

Anyone catch the Hasbro toy catalog images that leaked earlier today? They didn't last long thanks to Hasbro's quick reaction time...

Yeah, but they can be found (for now) on a certain fan site's facebook page.

I need to see these...where?!?  ???

Apparently these were all shown off over at JTA tonight for about five seconds before Hasbro made them take it down. There is no way someone didn't think to screen grab those images though. I am dying to see these...

Hi McMetal.

Did you pick up the Building Set of Dale's RV? I am tempted, but telling myself I need that money for the 4th............

You know, I was going to but held off initially when I saw it at Walmart for $50. Then by the time I got around to picking it up, I suddenly couldn't find any at ANY Walmart around here. Very odd. I have no interest in paying $10 more for this at TRU either, so it is on the back burner for now.

I did find the brand new Upper and Lower Prison Cells at Walmart last week and bought both of those. They are excellent. I have heard the Boiler Room set is out also but have yet to see that anywhere.

Also, on a slightly different note, I am seeing multiple reports of people finding the Walgreens exclusive Deputy Rick @ Walmart of all places. I have looked all over and only found 1 store that even carried WD figures but they only had the Daryl and Chopper Sets and the last TV wave. I'm going nuts trying to find that stupid thing...it's the only WD figure I've never seen at a store. (yet)

Cool, I got like 3 new names out of that.

The NERF thing does not sound like something that should be a part of the SW 4" toy universe, but I am an old school purist I guess.

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: Retail Prices/Sales/Discounts
« on: August 19, 2015, 10:55 PM »
I picked up a Vizam,  R5-D4, and Yoda for $1.19 each after hitting a few different Walgreens. Most of the locations had none at all. Glad to have found what little I did.

Crazy clearance sales at Walgreens stores. They were priced pretty high before, but phase 2 TBS 3.75" figures are being clearanced out for $1.38 each.  I picked up another of the ROTJ R5 units.

Nice! I'm hitting a bunch on my way home.

And yet, for some reason they refuse to put the GoT figures on clearance despite the fact these have been gethering dust for months now.  ::)
