Picked up everyone but Rose today. No issues at the checkout either, which was nice. The Guard seems to be in really short supply, not that I'm surprised. It's a neat figure.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Favorite Line(s) of All Time

Hmm. Let's see...

-Masters of the Universe. Love, love, love this line. My first action figure was Skeletor, and it was all downhill from there. I have an almost complete museum-quality vintage collection that's easily my favorite part of my collection. I haven't really gotten into the vehicles in this line because I want to buy them with the boxes. That box art was the best in the business.

-GI Joe. I've collected ARAH, the JvC/SpyTroops/VVV stuff, and just about every figure since the 25th line started. And the vehicles too...  :o

-Star Wars, vintage and modern. Wouldn't be here without them, and I swear collecting modern Star Wars has become so ingrained in my routine I don't know what I'd do without it. Is that weird? I can never tell.

-Transformers. I can have these now that I promise not to break them. I really like my G1 collection, mostly reissues. And the modern stuff too, though with these, I really need to go through and get rid of some.

Then there's other stuff I've collected, like Lord of the Rings and Marvel Legends, but I don't put these in the same class as the above lines.

The next phase of Generations is going to be called Power of the Primes, which I guess is neat, but they're finally doing updated versions of the Dinobots! And that Optimus/Orion Pax set is just nuts. Just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in...

There's been a LOT of knockoff G1 Transformers getting out in the market last 5-10 years. The Dinobots are arguably the most common ones to be found, next to the combiners. Be cautious of sellers on ebay selling MISB specimens- the bootleggers making these even went so far as to recreate the original Hasbro packaging. I bought one, Shockwave, and it's a really neat piece, but has a bit of that knockoff feel to it. Neat boxed collectible, though. A handy guide outlining the differences between genuine and knockoff. It's pretty overwhelming exhaustive.

Of course, the easiest way to tell is usually price- a single genuine loose Dinobot is over $100, and you can score a set of five knockoffs for $200.

Glad this collection is returning. Hope they get to Jedi Master Luke soon.  :)

This is ridiculous. Well, good luck to Lucasfilm going forward. Seems to be a very "it's my ball and I'm going home" thing at Lucasfilm, god help you to be on the wrong side of that.

Wonder if they'll get anybody to work for them now. That's three ousted directors, equal to the number they haven't fired off their movies.

Too bad this kind of stuff isn't at retail. This is the kind of thing I go nuts for. Guess I'll get it on the app when they hit, whenever Disney gives us a break.

The Last Jedi / Re: Force Friday II - September 1, 2017

Headed out at midnight to the local WMs. As Darby said, we had to hit two to get our Luke figures, which was the only reason I went out. Glad to find it finally, as it's a figure that should have been out eighteen months ago, but here we are. A very lousy showing by WM, as it has been the last two releases. One case each of Orange and Teal, and no new Black Series 6" at the second store. Hera was conspicuously absent from the PDQs at the first store, which doesn't surprise me. I don't collect the Rebels 6" figures, but some dude was there looking for just Hera and must have managed to find one.

Going out in a bit to see what's out there. Only ended up buying Luke and Paige last night, waiting to see what gets revealed before buying something I don't want.

The Last Jedi / Re: TLJ 3.75" Basic Figure Line

These look much improved from the TFA figures, which is good. Glad to see the silly accessories are gone. Bet these will still be eight bucks, though.  ::)

Packaging is great, seems to have a vintage influence with the big picture on the card. Hasbro is really pimping that Force Link thing, which I figure they'll stop supporting around this time next year if at all.

I think, so far, that I'll only be getting Luke and Rey on Force Friday, and wait to see what's up with Paige and Rose. Might end up grabbing Kylo too because I know I will.

I like it. I hope there's a Luggabeast set in the future, but I doubt it.

I think Diddly nailed it on Star Wars. One movie a year is not beneficial for toy selling.

Absolutely true. I saw on Twitter today that the Rogue One stuff is now on clearance at Target. What, half the line made it to the pegs there? I never saw wave 3 anywhere.

At some point, the licensees are going to run into a brick wall and say screw it.

Back to the topic. I guess it's just Transformers Titans Return, which is the only thing I've had any success collecting this year. I still buy vintage GI Joe when I can. Not very often. I'd say I was a Star Wars collector, but other than the U-Wing I got on clearance at Barnes and Noble, I'm not sure I've bought anything Star Wars since wave 2 of the Rogue One stuff dropped around the movie's premiere.

I like it. Considering there's no new GI Joe stuff other than Club offerings for the next two years, I'll try to pick this up.

Picked up a U-Wing at Barnes & Noble today for $12. Neat ship, but I do wish is was bigger and had more paint detail. I should just be happy Hasbro is still making vehicles.  :-\

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2017 Hasbro Star Wars Fan Figure Vote
« on: April 28, 2017, 09:59 PM »
I figure this is like every other Fan vote they've ever had- the finalists are figures they're working on already, and have already been approved by Lucasfilm.

I wonder if Dorme or Cliegg would have placed higher if Hasbro had said the Tonnikas were out of the running. But I'll take Sim or my Yak Face resculpt. Heck, even a great ROTJ Emperor would be nice.

The vote is finally up. I picked Sim Aloo, though he's currently dead last at 8% of the vote. Looks like you can vote more than once too, though I haven't tried.
