I have just about given up hope on getting this set.  To bad as I would have bought it.

I have found the wave at 4 different stores here the past few days.  Mainly at Wal-Mart, Target, and TRU.  Big surprise right?

The Vintage Collection / Re: TVC will fail...

If it tanks then it tanks.  I think that has more to do with the overall interest in the 6 movies than anything else.  The line of figures has been out there since 1996 - 99 if you want to begin with TPM.  That's a pretty good run considering nowadays that toys last maybe 1 year unless they are successful like Cars.  The 3D films will get things going again in 2012.

I think this is the best they could do during the down years.  Although some all new figures would have helped these first two waves.  I can't really count Dak since that's the same orange pilot we've gotten for awhile now.  Plus, that Han Solo Hoth figure is sort of new but not really.

TV-9D9 / Re: The death or disappearance of Ahsoka?
« on: September 23, 2010, 05:59 PM »
At some point I would like to see Anakin start to "turn" a bit away from the Jedi.  I kind of wonder if they will have something with Ahsoka that he blames the Jedi for somehow.  Maybe they "prevent" him from helping her somehow?  I don't know.  Just tossing it out there.  I hope she figures into the overall saga some way but of course not the main reason that he turns.  I want to see some more reasons that Anakin turns from the Jedi other than him wanting to save his wife from death.  Not that it isn't a good reason but to kill lots of innocent Jedi and such maybe we'll get a bit more oomph to it from this series???

The real mystery is how they can give K-3PO a figure this good, but for Goldenrod, we get crapped on.

No kidding Chewie.  Although my son and I do have fun with the current C-3PO dismantling him and stuff.\, but he needs a ultra accurate sculpt someday.  This would have been a nice way to have put out a Torryn Farr IMO.  Although I would rather have her carded someday.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: RC Hailfire Droid
« on: September 16, 2010, 11:58 AM »
Well my 5 year old (soon to be 6) is now wanting this.  LOL!  I do like it personally.  I just did not want to shell out $60 for it since I have the other non-remote control version.  That and I shelled out $100 for the big AT-AT.  He's got a good chance of getting this because A) he wants it really bad B) he's got plenty of family members willing to get him a "big unique item" that he'll love and C) AOTC is his favorite Star Wars movie because of the Arena and Jedi/Clones vs. Droids/Seperatist action.  I really don't see tons of these hanging out in the stores though.  Granted I have not really been looking for it.  Anyway, it sounds like it will be in our house at the latest by X-mas.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Realistic/Movie Style Clone Wars figures

Whew, sounds like we can put this rumor to rest...for awhile at least, courtesy of Sandtroopers' QA:

"Likewise, some fans have asked for Vintage-style versions of more modern characters and that too is an avenue that we have chosen not go down. Instead, we'll stick to the separate realistic and animated lines for now, each universe to itself."

Right on Hasbro!  :)

Personally I like that decision, but I am surprised they don't take the opportunity to make some realistic Clone Wars figures.   I would think the dollar signs would be dancing in their heads with the chance to put Anakin and Kenobi in yet another form to the masses.

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2010 "Vintage" Collection Wave 2 - RotS
« on: September 16, 2010, 09:15 AM »
Sidious was one of the main figures I have been waiting on since ROTS.  I like the headsculpt but unfortunately the clothing really looks bad IMO.  But I love the cardback and will just have to "deal" with it until they release another version in 2017.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Boba Fett Mail-Away Offer?
« on: September 16, 2010, 09:13 AM »
That is the beauty of it for Hasbro.  They can say if you want it to be pristine we will 'have to" raise the price.  So, the next mail away after that Clone Wars Brianiac looking figure you can bet we'll see a higher price.  I thought maybe they would give us the clamshell like the Lucas Trooper...nope.

Great limit Jabba The Hutt but clearance the Dewback and AT-ST.  Gotta love Wally World!

Well again I always thought it was actually a smart move by Hasbro to make the animated style of figures for the cartoon series.  Mainly for the kids of course.  If they would not have then you would have had people begging for the cartoon style.   I just assumed they would also make "realistic" versions of the main figures because they would see dollar signs with that.  It sounds like they are finally going down that road.  This way they can make both camps happy.  Yay.

I hope the cardbacks go longer than 2 years myself but that's because I'm old.  They really did need to give Luke a different picture on the cardback but sort of figured they would use the old one.  I thought they were going to give Yoda the ROTS cardback since clearly they are going for that with the figure.  Or even AOTC.

At any rate there are some solid figures in the wave.  I don't think it's the greatest wave ever but that Gamorrean Guard has to be one of the better figures they have ever made.  They have done some nice Jabba's Palace/Skiff figures over the years now.  Ephant Mon, Hermi Odle, Gam Guard, and some others.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Vintage Pegwarmers
« on: August 19, 2010, 09:32 AM »
The least one that I can find so far is Luke Bespin.  Although I can obviously find him it just seems like he is selling good between the 3 main stores I look at.  But sure 4-LOM, Dengar, Cloud Car Pilot, AT-AT Driver, C-3PO all seem to sit the most.

Kind of early for pegwarming status though.  Maybe after next month we'll know for sure.  AT $8 a pop they should be sitting right?  ::)

Yep, he'll keep hanging on to things here and there and send out a few at a time.  He purposely holds back on this stuff to build up the hype and wait for a sufficient enough percentage of people out there to own a certain type of player.   It always strikes me funny because he's always trying to be technologically ahead of the "rest of the crowd" but always lags way behind the rest to actually put his films on it.

The only thing that kind of surprised me was that they did not show the entire ROTJ wave carded.  They only showed the Endor Soldier.  I guess I know what the cards will look like from 1983 but you know what I mean.
