The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Recent Clone Wars Finds/Purchases
« on: May 27, 2012, 09:35 PM »
Yeah, the Rex I saw today looked like bad weathering. Bad weathering on a bad figure.

Saw the deluxe Republic Attack Fighter thingie. the paint ops on Anakin's head were about dollar store knock-off level. And there's a hole in the plastic on left hand at the wrist . One of the worst quality control failure figures I've seen from Hasbro in some time.

It's not universal. At the Wal-Mart I stopped at they scanned at $25.

That Wal-mart had the new clone wars wave and Movie Heroes, too.

Buy one get one 50% at TRU for All Star Wars, GI JOE, Spider-man, Marvel action figures.

At the online store it applies to Vintage. In theory that applies to retail, too.

Panic may be right!  :o

Variety reporting that Joe will have no retail presence during hiatus and that retailers are being instructed not to sell retaliation still in stockrooms:

So if you see something buy it quick!

I saw a couple of figures I liked the looks of, but $10 each? Ouch.

Surprisingly found a Rebel Ground Transport at TRU for 30% off. That makes it about the price it should be.

Kroger of all places had the new Movie Heroes figures, except Qui-Gon and Maul. Padme's head sculpt is awful, I think.

Saw some GI JOE RETALIATION figures.

Marshalls and TJ Maxx suck lately, guess Five Below got the rest of the AoTC cases. They had Grumpy Smurf with a bridge and rowboat for $3 on clearance. Lousy looking bridge, though.

Hasbro's official statement:
“G.I. Joe is an ongoing consumer franchise and therefore there is merchandise available to consumers.  There is a limited amount of G.I. Joe Retaliation product at retail now, but in light of the movie moving out to March 29, 2013, the majority of the movie line will be made available early next year in time for the film’s release.”

Scramble to the what you can now!  :o

Or whatever. I might pick up that HISS Tank.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: General Rieekan watch at RiteAid
« on: May 25, 2012, 11:48 AM »
Rite Aid here has a C-3PO with ewok throne in Saga 06 packaging for some insane price.

Yep, the legs are on the wrong side of the body and the head is turned backwards. It makes it look like it's trying to poop out an Ewok.

That might explain the brown stains on its feet.    :-X

Saw this at Galactic Hunter. The battle pack made it to packaging stage or at least sample packaging stage.

They got the Battle Droids wrong, officer antenna's, no packs.

But hey, for $2000, we can overlook the little details.  :D

Just yesterday they announced the DVD/Blu-Ray release date of it.  :P

They really think by next March that it will do that much better? Media will be circling Retaliation like vultures, assuming it was held back because it was terrible.

This could be a huge blow to the GI JOE toy line's future, and I bet it's fate already had a lot riding on Retaliation.

Hasbro has to deal with that and what do about ATTACK OF THE CLONES tie-ins after this year's muddling response to The Phantom Menace.

I got an AT-AT at a yard sale for $20.

Really, I did. Missing the driver, the bike and some parts...too many to ever acquire. I got a bonus spider in the cockpit area. Proof they will get into anything.

Oh, and a Clone Wars 501st trooper tossed in...along with 8 loose Iron Man 2 figures...including 3 drones.

It's iffy, they should make an orange variant just to be sure.  :P

Hasbro's new policy: no peg warming bit players because we do running changes that we said we couldn't do a few years ago.

I missed the first two release of this AT-ST. The wal-marts here never got the first release, while it sat at other stores around the country. And the Hoth set sold out fairly quick.

I heard they had breakage problems. That makes me a bit weary of this one, since I have little faith in Hasbro's ability to correct flaws.

I wonder if they couldn't squeeze this into the starfighter assortment and they are being greedy by making it exclusive again and again. But then I don't own one, probably bigger in person.

Now, why won't they do something with that At-St driver mold?
