Toy Reviews / New JD Review: Neimoidian Warrior
« on: November 3, 2005, 10:08 PM »
You're slacking again Jesse. ;)

As weird as it sounds I'm going to have to agree with you on thus guy. I too actually like him. When you buy enough he can make a nice little army. That being said I just wish he wasn't quite sop readily availible at retail. I do like seeing other figures occasionally. This guy actually makes some pretty good custom fodder as well.

I do have to add one more con to the articualtion though, one of the elbows seems to be cut at a funny angle and as a result doesn't have the greatest range of motion.

I wish they would clearance these off so I could pick up a few more and help get rid of them around here.

Watto's Junk Yard / Jarhead
« on: November 3, 2005, 08:16 PM »
Is anyone else really excited about this movie? My friends and I are going to go see it tomorrow night when it opens. From the looks of things they have a really good cast, I really like Jake Gyllenhaal and Chris Cooper. I've been checking out the Jarhead site today, it is really well done.

Alright I'm really confused, supposedly there will be stargate and Battlestar Galactia items shipping with the Titanium line. I thought they were going to be with the Wal-Mart Titanium series because most of them are vehichles, but there is also a Cylon figure in there. Here's the story from Gateworld.

Hasbro will release the first-ever toy Stargate and death glider as part of the upcoming line of Star Wars toys, according to reports at Rebel Scum and Both Stargate toys and Battlestar Galactica toys will be included as a sort of "expanded universe" along with Hasbro's new Star Wars Titanium line.

Stargate items on the list include:

3-inch Stargate with Stand
3-inch Death Glider ship
Battlestar Galactica items include:

3-inch 1978 Viper vehicle
3-inch 1978 Cylon Raider vehicle
3-inch 2004 Scout ship vehicle
3-inch 2004 Colonial 1
3-inch 2004 Raptor
3-inch 2004 Viper Mark VII
Cylon Warrior (figure)
The toys will be shipped along with the Star Wars line in 2006, so keep your eyes on the toy aisle at your favorite store! There is no word yet on the toys' availability outside the U.S.

Mods if this isn't the right line go ahead and move/delete this.

Other Toy Lines / Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis figures
« on: October 12, 2005, 08:58 PM »

Gateworld reported today that Diamond Select Toys just got rights to make Stargate figures. They will be 7 inches tall.

For me this is good and Bad news. I have been working on a series of SG-1 customs for awhile now and I was hoping that they'd be unique. :-\ This is one line I can definitely see myself getting into though. :)

Toy Reviews / New JD Review: Obi-Wan Kenobi Red Leader
« on: October 3, 2005, 10:19 PM »
Great review Jesse! I really enjoyed the read and agree with you 100%. I think that this Obi-Wan could be my favorite figure ever, not just my favorite Obi-Wan figure. They did such a good job of hiding the articulation, with the exception of the crappy ankle pin. I think that we may see a fixed version someday, if it is ever repacked. Until thne though I'm more than happy with what we got. :)

Watto's Junk Yard / 25 pounds in 6 weeks. Can I do it? V 2.0
« on: September 20, 2005, 06:56 PM »
Well it's official. I'm going to try and lose weight like Kevin. I had my first hockey game of the season on Sunday and I realized how dreadfully out of shape I am. I decided it is time to get my weight back down to where it was in high school. At the end of my senior football season, I was in the best shape of my life. I was runing and lifting 5 days a week and weighed about 245-250. Which was the most I had ever weighed, but at 6'4" that isn't bad, and I was actually pretty solid. I had plans to walk-on to the Football team here at CSU, and I more than likely would have made it. Once track season started in February I couldn't lift after school any more and no one wanted to lift with me after track practice, so I was only lifting 3 times a week, and only got anything done once a week. By the end of track I wasn't in very good shape. It got worse over the summer because I had work at the time my friends would go and lift and they didn't want to wait for me, so I rarely lifted over the summer, and once I got to school it got worse. I wasn't active at all.

A year and a half later I'm now 273.4 lbs. and in the worst shape of my life. I'm sick of it. Unlike Kevin I only want to lose 20-25 pounds in 6 weeks, which works out to about 3.3 to 4.2 lbs. a week, which I think is very do-able. I don't want to be skinny because I've always been the big kid, I just want to get in shape and be back to my normal size. Right now I have 2 hcokey games a week and I plan on swimming 3 days a week and I want to start lifting again. I'm not going to do any serious dieting, my eating habits haven't changed to much over the last year. I am however going to try to eat more fruits and vegetables and cut down on what little fast food I eat. Like Kevin I'll update here as I progress.  :)

Feedback / Matt_Fury's feedback
« on: September 14, 2005, 02:43 AM »
I'll start a thread for Matt here since he doesn't have one. And I'm happy to start it on a good note. I've traded with Matt a lot and it has been great every time. Matt hooked me up with a Holo Yoda (awhile ago), and more recently when he has bought stuff from me, I have gotten very quick payments. He also makes really good pot roast. :P

Star Wars Action Figures / Your First custom...
« on: August 23, 2005, 08:29 PM »
I was looking at my first custom the other day, and I realized I have come along way. I am a much better customizer now than I was when I started, granted I have a long way to go before I'll ever consider myself good. ::) I remember when I was little I saw a few customs in my friends ToyFare magazine. One was an Endor Stormtrooper with an ewok pelt. It was one of the coolest thigns I had ever seen. And a couple years later I was looking for Star Wars customs online, cause I liked looking at them. :P I somehow ended up in the RS custom section after clicking on one of the results and as a result discover RS and joined. After watching the custom section for awhile I was led to FFURG, and I figured out how to make my own customs. I was reading the NJO at the time and I decided to make my favoritew EU character. After going out and buying some supplies, including my dremmel, I started on my first custom ever, Corran Horn in X-Wing Pilot gear. And this is how he bad turned out.

So what got you guys into customizing, and what did your first custom look like?

Site Feedback, Suggestions, and Help / Mission Log (Store Reports)
« on: August 18, 2005, 08:18 PM »
As much as I hate to say it one thing I really liked about that other site was the Look what I found section. I really liked how every major group got their own mini forum. In my area for example it was nice to be able to have A Denver/Fort Collins Thread and a Colorado Springs thread, as well as our own trading thread and a non-SW finds thread. Me and Matt_Fury have been trying to bring some of the Denver guys over here but they are resistant to change. ;) I really like how the Mission Log threads are private now, it really sets JD apart from other sites.

I guess what I'm getting at is I'd really like to see some child boards in the Mission Log Section, mainly for the active bigger areas like So Cal., Minnesota/Canuckia, Colorado, New Jersey, Michigan, Norther Cali/Bay Area, Indianapolis, and Iowa. I think that would perfect the Mission log section. And generate some more good traffic.

I know this would probably be a lot of work, but I think it'd be worth it.

Watto's Junk Yard / What time are you getting in line?
« on: May 17, 2005, 09:58 PM »
I've been like a little kid on Christmas eve all day today! :) I can't wait, I can't sit still and I know I won't be able to sleep tonight. Even thought there is absolutely no reason to I'm going to get in line around 10 or 11am tomarrow morning. I've got my folding chair from C3, some snacks, my Dell Dj, some reading material, and hopefully some friends :P. My brother is going to meet me there at around 3 or 4 and my other friends are going to show up some time later that night.

1 day and 4 hours until  ROTS ,    **** YEAH!!!!  ;D :)

Watto's Junk Yard / Good Luck on Finals!
« on: May 10, 2005, 12:58 AM »
I don't know who else has finals this week, or anytime soon, but good luck!  :)

I should be studying now for my Chemistry final tomarrow but instead I seem to be here.... ;)

Site Feedback, Suggestions, and Help / "Jump to Bar" Problem
« on: May 3, 2005, 01:17 PM »
I'm guessing this is just me, but I have been having problems with the little nav bar at the bottom of each page, the one that says "Jump to", has a list of the forums, and a go button. 90% of the time it won't work for me and it will say "Error on page" in the bottom left status bar in my explorer window. I'm guessing it is just me cause the little gnomes that live in my computer really like ******* with me sometimes. ::) ;) It gets annoying scrolling back to the top to go back to the forum list or jump to another topic (I know, I'm lazy :P ) I was wondering if there is anything I can do on my computer to fix this or if it actually isn't me for once?

Star Wars Dioramas and Displays / Diorama Child board?
« on: April 27, 2005, 01:41 AM »
We have a a Photonovel child board and I was hoping maybe we could bet a Diorama child board as well. Maybe it'll help get more customizers over here, and that is a plus :) If you mods don't mind I think it is a good idea :)

It's been so long since I've posted anything I felt I should :P ::)

It isn't much but this is an insert I'm working on for my SG-1 customs. I have quite a few more but I'll only post this one.

Comments and critiques are welcome. :)
