Vintage Kenner / Re: Wow - Vintage eBay Auctions

I had that Vlix on my watch list, seller had other Glasslite items too.

Other stuff that was in the watch list.

STAR WARS MADE IN MEXICO LILI LEDY SQUID HEAD BAGGIE

$500 for a bagged Squid Head!!!!!!
I think it is time to sell up my baggie collection.
That is ridiculous.  This is not a rare figure, not by a longshot.   Standard U.S. released ROTJ-e baggie.

I know collectors love to throw around the term "Lili Ledy" just because something is made in Mexico, but people have to understand that these were mass produced and sold in the U.S. by Kenner.
Hence common common common.

Be careful with the "Hardforce!" auctions.  I recently bought some baggie figures from him that were all re-seals.
Private bidders, dodgy description, etc.
Some nice items, but proceed with caution.

I love the mini-rigs!
Here is one of my favorite pieces.  It is a 2-pack ordered from the 1983 JC Penney Christmas Catalog.
It still has the mailing label and strapping tape holding the boxes together.

The buyer is none other than Shaun N/Decadetoys.
He will surely send it to the slaughterhouse (aka AFA) for "U" grading.

It is a real shame, because the heat sealed DT Luke is likely a one of a kind piece.

i guess it was too much to hope that this one would come to a regular conclusion and end at a bargain price

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6058681947&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I offered the seller *way* more than that to end early.
He told me he decided to let the auction run its course.  Now this.
I assume the "current price" thing is a mistake.

Vintage Kenner / Re: revenge of the jedi card backs
« on: April 25, 2006, 01:24 PM »
Back in the day (1990's) it seemed like every dealer thought they were sitting on a gold mine with these "Revenge" cardbacks.
They tried to sell them as "rare" or "hard to find" items.
Truth is they are quite common, and many carded collectors actually prefer the offerless cards to these.

I think overall Kenner did a fine job.  I really have no complaints. Although as mentioned, a Han Stormtrooper would have been bad-ass.
As a kid I remember wanting a Luke Bespin with removable hand (yes, I was morbid like that).

Right you are jokabofe!

This city is absolutely ecstatic right now!!  What a great feeling to finally have our team in the big game!!

I am at a loss for words.  It's just amazing.
So this is what it feels like to go to the Super Bowl!

"Thrilled in Seattle"

To me, there are just two Yoda snakes: orange and brown.

I guess it depends on how anal you want to get, but different shades of the same color do not constitute a variant for me.
And the green snake still doesn't look green to me.   :P

I know many loose collectors will disagree with me, so flame away.   ;)

There is no bandwagon for me; born and raised in Seattle, I have been a Seahawks fan all my life.
There is nothing I would like to see more than a Championship for this city.
It gives me chills just thinking about it!

Finally, someone else at this site with some brains  :D

I wasn't born and/or raised in Seattle, but I've been a fan since around '83 or so. I've been waiting a long time (a long, long time) for a playoff win... over 20 years as a matter of fact. I just hope we can take Carolina out. Won't be easy, but I think we can do it.

Hey jokabofe!  Good to hear from you!
This city is ready to explode if the Hawks can take home the gold.  Between our 3 sports teams, we have had NOTHING to cheer about for the last 25 years.
Everyone is ready!  Bring on the Panthers!

Vintage Kenner / Re: Jedi Luke's Snap Cloak Pic Request

Thanks for the picture and info, morgbug!

This is one of the most under rated variations IMO.
Very cool, and very hard to find.

I have a 65a back Luke Jedi that I've always wondered about.
There is no way to tell.  It's tucked behind the figure.
Any ideas?  Metal detector?  Magnet?

Sorry, I don't have a pic, but I don't believe the snap is visible from the right flap.

Personally, I'd like to know if anyone has any idea how to detect a snap cape on a carded Luke Jedi.

Good luck in your search,
Andy

Holy crap, what a game!
How about that challenge overturned on that interception?
Was that ref crazy? or is there actually a technicality in the rule books about this?

Looked like a clean interception to me.  But glad to see it didn't determine the result of the game.  You'd hate to see that.
