The Vintage Collection / Re: Animated Clone Wars 3D Figures

I guess in terms of clearance it all depends on the area. Here in South New Jersey, I recall seeing Ventress, Dooku, Yoda, Mace, Obi-Wan and Anakin all with those little red Target clearance stickers.

Hasbro has stated in past Q&A that the Clone Wars figures will be done in a style that is in keeping with the rest of the 3.75" figure line.

They are not looking to do "Animated Style" figures any time soon (according to the answer I remember reading).

The Animated Figures that sold at Target sold through but if I recall correctly, only because of deep clearancing from Target. Sure the Clones always sold and the WalMart 3-pack sets were barely in stock for the DVD releases, but I would say any speed of sell-through on anything done in the animated style was purely due to a lower manufacturing quantity on each item.

I think Hasbro acknowledges that the best bet for any action figure item is to keep it compatible with the 3.75" platform/system. They have tried other sizes and styles and they always ended up as failures.

based on that pic I'm not impressed. looks like its still way to small and not worth $100. however that is only based on these pics. I want closer more detailed pics before i make a decision.

I feel the same way, I am totally not impressed by its size.

Then again, if I recall, when the AT-AT first came out again for the POTF2 line, it was nothing more than a repaint of the old vintage toy with the vintage electronics removed and the "Darth Vader Hologram" electronics added - and that retailed for somewhere in the ballpark of $80 - $100. And then just recently when the "Endor" AT-AT came out as a TRU exclusive, that was sold in the $100 ballpark.

So considering that this is a 100% new sculpt, I'm not surprised that even with it's diminutive size, it's going to clock in at $100.

Well, Saga Legends will be ending when Clone Wars starts.

So first half of the year: TAC & Saga Legends

Second half of the year: Clone Wars & The Saga Collection 3

Where in the second half of the year, the Saga Collection will be the secondary line, the waves will still be themed, but we won't get waves like Wave 5 & 7 where all of the figures will be new, we'll get waves where like 1 or 2 figures are new, 1 or 2 figures are kit-bashed and then 1 or 2 figures are complete repaints/repacks.

That is the impression that Hasbro has given us via Q&A answers.

So if the Droid Factory line is separate that would make three lines at once. I'm pretty sure Hasbro has stated that there will not be more than two lines running at any one time either.

So my guess is that what I'm calling The Saga Collection 3 will also be The Droid Factory Collection

Thats why they should've had the games tie into the Toys(comics).  ;)

Agreed, when the game was looking like it was going to be delayed, they should have taken the approach that The Force Unleashed story was a Novel and a comic and a series of Toys that would also be backed up by a next-gen console game.

If you all recall, the SOTE promotion was a Book First, Comic Second, Toys Third and oh yeak, there's a Nintento 64 game too.

If I were to guess as to why the game is delayed, it probably has to do with that interactive physics/AI engine they built. I can't think of the name of it right now.

Picked up the Stormtroopers set from the wave of The Force Unleashed 2" Unleashed Packs.

The cheat-code that came with this one was "LIGHTSABER" - apparently it will give you a more powerful lightsaber in the game.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: TRU "Hoth Patrol" Battle Pack

They really should have included the ice base that this Luke originally came with an the base and post that the Wampa originally came with. What could the cost of those pieces have been? $1? $2?

I know TRU will charge their regular $24.99 for this Battlepack, so it's completely inexcuseable that the base pieces aren't included.

To me a "Hoth Patrol" Battle pack is two Tauntauns and Hoth Han and Hoth Luke that can both SIT on the Tauntauns. Han's should have a split belly to recreate the rescue scene.

Then a second Battle Pack could be the "Wampa's Cave" - but the problem there, is that it would be nothing more than the Wampa and Luke from the Saga line in one box. Maybe include a ghost Obi-Wan Kenobi with it? But it's still pretty weak.

So it's obvious that they wanted a vehicle they could use to get the Wampa back out into circulation since the last time it was around was 2002/2003.

I already stopped with all of the packaging variants myself - for TAC, I refused to drop $80 just to get the TAC versions of Darth Vader's TIE, Anakin's ROTS Jedi Starfighter, Obi-Wan's ROTS Jedi Starfighter and Mace Windu's ROTS Jedi Starfighter.

I'm currently fighting the urge to pick up the three repackaged Evolutions sets.

I did purchase all of the TAC Battlepacks so far. It definitely is getting harder and harder to justify grabbing a second (or in some cases possibly a third) versions of the exact same item w/no paint op variations just to have a "complete" packaging collection.

I can't help but think that Star Wars Shop will be carrying this item after the convention.

I'm in for two or three depending on the price. If they are $10 then definitely I'll order three. Anything more than that, and my limit is 2.

I knew it was only a matter of time before they made a Clone Commander in the Shadow Trooper scheme.

That Anakin looks GREAT!

What a great re-use of the Nelvaan Tattoo Anakin figure!

All three of those sets look great.

While I don't think I'll be going as overboard as I did the last time, I definitely want at least three of each these.

I picked up a pair of Obi-Wan Jedi Starfigthers w/the Hyperspace Rings today.

I also scored another Coin Album that I found on clearance.

Tsui Choi looks great. The pale Palpatine is also a winner.

I highly doubt the Tsui Choi figure makes it to clearance. I hate it when Hasbro does stuff like this. A clone repaint is one thing, but a new Jedi sculpt is something entirely different.

The Sev figure doesn't look too bad. The colors are kinda jarring but I'm okay with them trying a different color scheme for this body. If they have a new head, that already sets this figure apart from the throw-away Jedi figures we got last year.

The Obi-Wan definitely looks like the Outlander Nightclub Version. This confuses me actually. I figured that they would just take the ROTS Obi-Wan figure and slap on the head from the Comic 2-pack.

I'm kinda hoping that the Anakin will be a solid version of the ghost figure, just to make things different.

With how many times they are releasing the same ARC figure as part of these sets, I'm hoping that the Tsui Choi is a completely new figure. That would be the least they could do.

This is directed to people at another site who don't believe the Death Squad Commander can argue that the greyness/greenishness of the tunic is from the panel he is working on but its pretty much the only photographic evidence there is...and if they made a Blue Snag, the can make a Death Squad Commander.  I'd want one (and I made my own using the 30AC DST and a Moff Jerjerrod)

Let me guess, it's the forum on a site that rhymes with Treble Drum?

I agree with Sal - give me the huge list all at once but only in text form. It would help with budget planning and it would also allow for lots of discussion like "hey how do you think they're going to do X figure in Y assortment?"

At Toy Fair - show me everything up to say June/July releases.

At Comic Con unveil the rest of the year.

I think that a text list would also put an end to people finding items in store inventory databases, posting them to the internet and when asked about them, Hasbro has to say "blah blah blah those are just rumors blah blah blah the Target employee responsible for DPCI number assignment is just hoping that we are going to release an AT-TE blah blah blah we can not comment on an AT-TE release at this time..." -- I appreciate the Q&A but when things get silly like that it's just ridiculous.

I'm really shocked at this news. Two sets of Rebel Pilots?!

Wow, hopefully these are going to be great.

I have no doubt that the Tycho body will be used to some degree here.
