Really a bummer to hear some of you guys had to go through such an excruciating ordeal to get this figure at C3 last week, especially after seeing it put up for sale at SWS.com the morning you all got back.  I would've been rather annoyed to miss some cool events or panel discussions if I knew I could get the figure later online.

Weren't the Jorg Sacul lines at C2 a LOT shorter though?  I know there were scalping problems at both conventions, but I don't remember hearing so many complaints about the line at C2, even though it sounds like there were far fewer Saculs made available than the Vaders this time.  Strange.

Also, were the dealers really allowed to buy and sell these things right out in the open, for all to see?  That doesn't make sense to turn the convention hall into a scalpers dream right in front of all the fans that are trying to acquire this figure.  I can understand some dealers trying to do some business "under the table", but to see pictures of their signs posted for buying and selling the Vader is ridiculous.  The Gen Con organizers should never have allowed that, which I think would have eliminated at least some of the problems.

But at least it sounds like most everyone here got one, either at C3, or online.  I think I've got one coming in a pending trade with a local friend fortunately.  Anyone else still missing this figure?

Revenge of the Sith / Do you actually rifle through ALL the pegs?
« on: April 29, 2005, 05:01 AM »
I'm curious if you guys are becoming as jaded as I am now when it comes to finding new figures on the pegs.  I used to rifle through every single figure, on every single peg, until I'd checked every last one of them for new stuff that I was missing.  I'd go through hundreds of them over the course of several stores probably.

But nowadys, I find myself walking into a store and glancing at the fronts of the pegs, possibly flipping through several in the front, and that's it.  I've grown tired of flipping through them ALL, when the success rate of finding anything new in the depths of the pegs is about .005%.  They stock the new cases on the fronts of the available pegs, and there's plenty of collectors in my area so I know I'm not going to find any hidden treasures at the back of the pegs, so I've finally said the hell with it, and stopped wasting all of my time sifting through everything.  I still get the urge to, and wonder if I'm ever missing something new by not using the old browsing methods, but all in all I think I'm just saving myself time and unneeded stress by just avoiding the hassle altogether.

So do you guys still flip through all the figures on all the pegs?  Anyone else gotten sick of doing it like I have?

Probably nothing collecting-wise.  I'd just put the money into more "real world" types of things, like some nicer furniture, better electronics, and the usual knicknacks like music and movies.  Sounds boring though, so hopefully Star Wars isn't going anywhere anytime soon!

What do you think?

What do I think?  I think I want one, that's what I think!  Wow, that's some sharp work there.  Great detail and lines.  Really impressive.  Keep it up!

Some nice drawings there Hemish.  Do you commission artists to make these for you, or are they free items from friends or Star Wars fan acquaintances that you have?

Good to see you transitioned over here as well Ian.  Looks like no good member has been left behind in the recent exodus, so that's great to see!  See you onboard.

Wow, don't you guys ever stop?  :o  Thanks again everyone!

Welcome to the fold Aaron!!  Too bad your nice well-articulated post was deleted over at RS.

Well that's definitely a bummer.  I put some time and thought into that post, since it sounded like they'd finally be leaving a thread alone, and open for discussion.  Guess not.  What was I thinking?  Matters not though, as I've found a new home here in JediDefender!  8)

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: ROTS Picture Thread

Some great teaser shots in here for sure!  Really getting anxious for the release now, as it's looking more and more like we may finally be in store for a great prequel movie.  I've got my fingers crossed that George Lucas pulls out all the stops in this one.

I like that Obi-Wan shot too.  I wonder if that's really what's transpiring in that scene?  If so, I agree that it's a very profound moment and well expressed by Ewan.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: A JediDefender Thanks

I'm just a newbie at this point, but have enjoyed the opportunity to get involved in a seemingly far more mature and friendly site than the last one that I long lurked at.  So thanks to all the staff here form providing me with a new home, even if I only stop by every once and again.  Enjoying things so far, and judging by this thread, there's some pretty crazy folks here too.  But it only illustrates what a tight knit group you all appear to be, and that's very cool.

Mine's pretty obvious, and rather boring I suppose.  First name, last initial.  Aaron Davidson.  Yep, I'm creative like that.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Accessory Packs
« on: April 13, 2005, 11:47 PM »
I'd like to see a return to either Ep. 1 or Saga styled accessory sets.  I enjoyed the extras you could get in each of them.  Unfortunately it seems like they never sold very well in either incarnation, so I'd suspect that Hasbro's probably thrown in the towel with this idea, which is a shame.  Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I'd still like to see a release of the second wave of the Saga sets, but it looks like that's never going to happen.  I really wanted that X-wing ladder!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Clone Trooper #6 - Worth Army Building
« on: April 9, 2005, 01:04 AM »
I've been surprised at how easy this Clone has been to find so far.  I grabbed a couple early on, thinking I'd never see them again, but over the last couple days I've seen at least 10 of them at a couple different Targets near me.  Very disappointing about the lack of waist articulation though.  Bad idea to do that on such a potentially popular army building figure.

I guess that it's best for me to return the favor here, and give you a welcome as well, Anthony!  Glad to see you're over here too, as you were always one of my favorite members over at Rebelscum during my lurking days there.  I'll see you around here.
