Check out this tutorial... I am going to try and emulate this guy's work some to make a Theed Palace.

Interesting. I've never built a diorama (and although I may someday, I have no immediate plans to do so) but this seems like an invaluable tool for doing so.

That's sweet!!!
I love that lake tower!! It is so detailed, the plants look great!!! It is sooo realistic looking, look at the little lilly-pads, I think they may have been little paper dots, It looks amazing!

It's pretty amazing... hopefully this summer I can enjoy a few days of my vacation sitting around the house doing absolutely nothing. If so, this is a project I really want to attempt.
I've got a couple of ideas using this method - Theed Palace and Coruscant street level
