Winston Churchill's foul-mouthed 104-year old parrot has refused to surrender after a newspaper tracked the bird down and discovered it was still alive.

I've come across several stories on this over the last couple days now.  A 104 year old cursing parrot that supposedly used to belong to Winston Churchill...  "Charlie" has apparently been living in some garden nursery in England for the past 12 years, and now some folks are trying to catch him, or at least get him to swear some more.  It's supposedly famous for squawking four-letter obscenities about Hitler.   8)

I don't know too much about birds, but damn - 104 years old?!?  I thought this was some kind of joke, but apparently it's true, as the Reuters article (and others) claims that although parrots only live to about 40 in captivity, they can make it up to around 110 years old in the wild!   :o

I think I'm gonna go buy myself a parrot!

That parrot gives a whole new meaning to flipping the bird!  ;D

If its true that the parrot is indeed 104 yrs old, that must be a record!  :o

Pretty incredible, if true.

Not just because parrots apparently live that long - but also because this used to belong to the great Churchill. Wow. I'd love a soundfile of Charlie here saying '**** Hitler' or whatever. That'd come close to replacing my clip of Dean going 'Washington, D.C., Waaarrrhagh!'

Yeah I heard certain parrots live a heck of a long time.  You can own a parrot and it will be around for your great grandkids to enjoy.  Just think of the joy your great grandkids would feel to hear a 104 year old cussing parrot!  If I am one of those kids I'd love birds forever.  Cussing birds sound like great pets.  

I could have the parrot cuss out anyone that walks through the door.  If your in-laws come over they could get a cussing and not from myself.  Wow!
