I've heard rumors that it comes out the same day as the ROTS DVD.

I've heard the December date as well.  I was kind of hoping for it sooner, but at least it will be out by the end of the year.

I'm trying hard to see the logic in releasing the CW Volume 2 DVD after the ROTS DVD.  One of the coolest things about the second season was the fact that it aired prior to the release of ROTS, and that final shot with the zoom out of the Coruscant battle raised my anticipation a million times higher than it was already.

I hoped and thought that the Volume 2 DVD would be released about two weeks to a month prior to the ROTS DVD, so as to build up a similar sense of anticipation.  Now, of course most of us have seen both the cartoon and the film already, but releasing the story sequentially makes more sense to me than saying "Here's the movie this month, and you can get what happened immediately before this DVD next month."

That being said, I cannot wait to watch Season 3/Volume 2 in 16:9 big screen goodness.

If what I've heard is correct, there is only one DVD team that works on these. And while I definitely see what you're saying Doc, I bet most people would rather have it this way than waiting until December to get ROTS.
