That looked liek a scrape to me, not writing.  Maybe it's a love letter to his Clone wife of Zam Wessel?

That's not a scrape. See pic.

I never noticed this in the film, so I always assumed that it was just the artist/skinners signature...

If it isn't just a scrape in the same place, in the film, then I'll assume that it's Mandalorian.

It actually says Commander Cody. In case Cody ever forgets his own name.  :P
