Is this new Clone Trooper one of the ones listed on the bottom right of that picture?  It doesn't look any different than what's already been done.

Yeah, better pics will be coming I'd assume.  You have to think there are articulated knees, ball-jointed arms and what not.  Like BobaBinks said above they have made quite a few Clonetroopers lately so they are probably all blending together in your mind :)

The articulation count goes a lil sumpin' like dis...

2-shoulder
1-neck
1-waist
2-thigh/hip
2-knee
2-ankle
2-wrist
2-elbow

For a total of 14 points.  

What of that is ball/socket, is anyone's guess...  It could be every major joint though, judging by the image (I blew it up trying to get a good look).

Here's to hoping for greatness...  I just hope the "natural" pose is very neutral, unlike that damn red clone's pose where his bow legs and arms clenched tight at his sides (because of no ball/socket shoulders) meant he was limited to only a handful of poses, and they were ALL action poses.

Well prototype pics just surfaced at POTF2.com (RS has the news blurb up just now):

This thing looks fantastic. It seems to have ball socket joints at the elbows, maybe at the shoulders as well, concealed very nicely by the armour.

Hasbro had better realize RIGHT NOW that they need to ship out cases of these things alone, 12 per box. :)

That is AWESOME!  It's about time Hasbro made Star Wars figures more like GI Joe figures.  I don't know why it took them so long to try something different.  Do you think this is the "guinea pig," and if this figure goes well they'll start making all the figures this way?

I hope this goes over fantastically so we see more army builders made like this. If we had Stormtroopers and Biker Scouts to the same level of completeness it would be amazing. I'm gonna have a huge clone army. :) This thing looks like it will go from a good natural, neutral pose to full-blown combat action with no problem. Goooood times.

It's funny, but the cynic in me wants to say, 'Bah, they're only giving us an ultimate articulation Clone because they can sell repaints of it for the next 2 years, and we'll never see that detail out of OT because they can't make variations!'

But this is too cool to be cranky about, at least for a little while.  8)

Even without variations I think they can crank these out for ALL army builders and make a MUCH better sales rate on their army builder figures.

I mean, I'd have taken just THIS sculpt in a 3-pack before those pi$$-poor pre-posed clones we wound up with that are uber cheap in feel, deco, and sculpt.

Gimme this guy with repaints.

Gimme a Scout like this guy!

Gimme a Stormie like this guy!

Gimme a Rebel Fleet Trooper with Head Variants like this guy!

Gimme a Hoth Rebel Soldier like this guy!

Gimme a Snowtrooper like this guy!

Gimme Sandtroopers like this guy!

Gimme EU Troopers like Aquatic and Space troopers like this guy!

Gimme Endor Rebels like this guy!

You get the idea...  

Hell, give me ALL figures articulated like this guy.  That ball/socket joint worked flawlessly on the Luke Bespin figure and wasn't noticeable.  It even looked like a fold in the fabric.

Can't beat that with a stick. :)

They should cut their losses and ship soild cases of this guy at half price.Here is how it should go down...

ship 3 cases per store,for weeks for 2 weeks,then one case per week for 3 weeks
cut the price in half since many of the other figs were pegwarmeres
4 out of 12 in a case should be different ranks(blue,green,yellow,red)
have the stores clear the pegs for this guy sice he will be a big seller.
Cut the command gunship price in half sice it is not going anywhere.
