I wear some cheapass Converse hightops to work, but outside of work, it's either Vans, Converse canvas, or some really groovy Birkenstock sandals (that need replacing this year. ). I have some dress shoes, but I rarely wear them.

As soon as summer gets here, I'll be barefoot nearly all the time I'm not working or going out.

Yeah, they're expensive. I spent $100 on a pair back in '99 and they've lasted until 2004, so I think I got my money's worth.

This thread reminds me of when I used to where my original Air Jordans around during my mid to late '90s college years, and several times people actually offered me a good chunk of money for them - from $100 up to $150.



I'd tell them they were completely worn out (wore them two seasons of JV basketball in high school), they were falling apart, had a couple holes in them, etc.  but folks didn't seem to care.  They were the original Air Jordans and people wanted them regardless!  Despite how badly I could've used the extra money in college, I decided to just hang on to them due to the nostalgia factor.

Pretty strange being at a local bar shooting some pool on a weekday afternoon and having someone say "Hey, $150 for your Jordans there"...

I have a pair of brown dress shoes and a pair of black dress shoes for work.  Don't ask what brand, I think I bought them at Payless.  Works for me.

Sneaker wise, I like Reebok.  Fairly inexpensive, durable and comfortable.  My last two pairs were Reebok and I have no complaints.

And for those snowy and cold days, a pair of work boots.  Nothing too fancy, but they do the job.

I bought my first pair of non-Nike tennis shoes for the first time since I was in the 8th grade tonight, I went with a black pair of New Balance.  My dad raves about them and they were pretty damn cheap at the local Kohl's so I thought I'd give it a whirl

I heard New Balance is the only shoe company that actually makes its product in the USA. True, or just someone blowing smoke up my ass? (Now there's an image...)
