I'm personally at home cursing up a storm if it is...  That's utter crap, and excuseless considering they have the mold for a removable helmet handy and would just need to make a new head.

Yeah, which if that's the case I'll be passing on this set I believe.  Hasbro's making it really easy to give up being a completist if this is indeed the figure pack-in they're planning.  Unless it had the R5 unit and that R5 was one HELL of a figure, then I'd be thoroughly disappointed by that pilot hack job.

Luke's short...  Luke's Scronny...  His body doesn't match the rather tall and larger build of Red Leader (Hell, check out the shots of them together in the SE footage that was put into ANH).  So the body's all wrong...  And again, any pilot with a molded on helmet at this point is just wrong.  I mean, they have Porkins' helmet sculpt to use...  They have Wedge's helmet sculpt to use...  They have Cinema Scene Wedge's body sculpt to use...

Make a friggin' head for him and be civil to the people who wanted a Red leader figure.  It'd be odd that Gold Leader got a brand spankin' new figure and Red didn't since Red even had a moment of interaction with Luke outside of his ship.  

That sure looks very prototype to me though.  The coloring of it is very reminiscent of a test shot sample that hadn't been hand painted yet.  Getting such vibrant color from resin casts isn't a small task either really, and I speak from experience.  I somehow have a sinking feeling that is indeed the upcoming Red Leader figure.  

Cheap indeed.  I wasn't planning on buying this anyway, but wow.  This sucks for you guys who were.  If it's for real.

And to think I expected a brand new figure and a brand new R5 to go with it. I won't be buying this, this is pathetic.

The pilot really bites though...  I do believe that, unless I see it on clearance, i'm gonna pass.  With all the helmet molds, it wouldn't have pained Hasbro to actually make a new head and use the Wedge body to make a decent pack-in figure.
