Sacrelige it may be, but I say go for it. Your microman customs always end up looking great, ss I cant wait to see what you do with this one. Seeing as how I still havent found one, I cant comment on the base figures crappy articulation. But from the pics that I have seen anything would be better. ;D

This is a great idea phruby!!!
Can i make a suggestion. Instead of cutting up and dremeling hasbros scorch to death, make casts of the pieces
and use that for the armor.

If you my hollow helmet technique, you coul get thin cast pieces that you can just apply to the microman body.

Just the route i would take... especially now that you are getting into casting... Kill 2 birds!

Your totally right! Why didn't I put that together. I plan on repainting scorch anyway so why not cast it. Besides, why destroy the figure if I make a mistake in cutting. I can always make another piece.

Brillant! ;D

Funny Phruby... but what exactly am I looking at here?  Is this part of a molding process?

This is an idea that Glassman gave me a few weeks ago about how to do my Microman Scorch. He said to cast the Scorch armor and then dremel it to fit the Microman body. That way I don't destroy a prefectly good Scorch. So, I'm making a two part mold of his armor. I'm at the same time, making some molds of the Skywalker twins.

The only way I'm going to get this project completed is with a work in progress thread. So here it is.

Commando soup and baby back ribs.

Yes, very cute, Phruby!  What exactly are you casting them in?  To the uninitiated in the ways of casting, it looks almost like that agar stuff one uses for DNA electrophoresis... :)

Oh, those are the baby twins, aren't they... At first I thought they might be Ayy Vida torsos or some such (another sort of "babe," at least to some ;) )  Do you have any particular plans for them at present?

Looking good Phruby.  I haven't had the guts to try out the two piece molding yet.  Is that Smooth Sil 920 (or whatever) that you used?  Unfortunately there is a lot of "dead space" that gets used up in these molds.  I'm very anxious to see how this turns out and I may jump back in and try two piece molds.

Keep us updated!!

Yup. That is Smooth Sil 920 and those are the twins. I have a few people that want casts of those so I have my cast and one from Glassman in there. We'll see how this goes.

The microman is cold. He needs his armor.

Looks yummy!!! You really should have basted them with a nice bernaise sauce though. It really brings out the flavor. ;D

Hey Phruby. Is this your first attempt at a 2 part cast? I tried it a few weeks ago and it didn't go well... I'll try again soon, but I just wanted to wish you luck. If yours DOES wrok, I think you're gonna build an awesome commando dude.

If that's Scorch Jello, you're forgetting the all-important carrot shavings on top.
