i voted against him only when he was up against oola. he beat her like 95% to 5% sadly, which really sucked for me. i wanna see oola again.

The Darktrooper is definitely kind of ridiculous in terms of the modern figure aesthetic.  It's much more like an old video game boss than anything else.  I think the only appeal to the figure is that it was HTF.

Not a bad selection considering they're all repacks.  How about those SA shocktroopers and 501st?  Nice nod to the army builders.

On the flipside, good luck finding all of the variations of the officers and clones...that's going to be a bitch for carded collectors.


No VOTC stormie I see...I guess the re-release of the VTSC Biker Scout and VOTC Boba Fett kind of throws Hasbro's rule out regarding never seeing VOTC molds used in their exact same form in other lines...kind of makes me feel like a sap for paying $10+ for them originally.

Not too bad I guess, but not exceptionally exciting to me I guess.  I was kind of hoping for a few more OT figures, and a few less of the figures that were in the Greatest Battles assortments this year already (R2, Yoda, Grievous, Obi-Wan, Anakin, etc.)  The Pilot Obi is great, but I wish they could put the Evolutions Anakin in there instead of the "#2" sculpt again.  Again, a lot of ROTS figures we've seen a lot of.  I think they could have handled to put a decent Luke or Han in there, unless we'll get our fill from the basic line.  They'd probably just stick Cantina Han in there again anyways, although a VOTC Han would have been great.  Anyways, for repacks I guess it is fine.  I'm glad we're seeing figures like VOTC Boba Fett and the Scout Trooper released again, because I'd like to get a couple more of those.  It looks good for army builders.

They've already explained that he was out of the running because he's in the basic figure line in '07.

I agree though, not a bad list at all. Lots of army builders should equal lots of sales. I'm glad I've got most of my troops already. The only one's I'll need to buy from that entire list are the Pit droids since I don't have them and the Imperial Officers to bring my officer platoon up to full strenght.

That's right, 39  - THIRTY-NINE carded figures in this line.  And that is only counting the variations that we know about know (you know there will be more once they are released).

Add in the fact that Hasbro has already confirmed plans for 60 figures in the main figure line and that is almost ONE HUNDRED basic figures again next year.   

I guess I'll kiss that $1000 goodbye right now.

The year hasn't even started yet, so I'm sure they'll crank it out at least three or four more times next year after this.  What got me was how the other site claimed it made a decent pilot figure.  In what ship?  The one where he stands up so his elongated crotch doesn't prohibit proper seat position that also includes harnesses for his arms so they don't fly all around the cockpit?
