I'd agree that the Luke values have dropped considerably. One guy had to relist one at $39.99 about a week ago as it didn't sell.
I think I suggested and others as well that the Vader series was produced in incredibly high numbers and that chase figures are fairly abundant. Patience is always the key (to a point). I opted to get them out of the way and probably overpaid what I otherwise could have paid.
My guess is for many of the higher end pieces we're seeing two things: 1. speculators unloading stuff they see as losing value and 2. collectors getting out after the initial excitement has worn off.
Early, underproduced or limited items will retain value. Later produced items will not retain the higher value. Supply and demand.
I bid on and lost the carded Luke you linked earlier by a dollar. I also lost on the carded R2, but $80+ is way more than I want to pay for something I plan on opening. I keep hoping to stumble on a listed opener with a lower BIN
