Streetheart.  It's a compilation album. For those that don't know (All of you save maybe Dale and Bob) this was a local Canadian band that had a modicum of success in the late 70's and early 80's.  Probably the greatest complement they ever received was from the Rolling Stones.  The story goes that when the Stones heard Streetheart's version of under my thumb they didn't want to bother playing their's anymore, it was that good.  I'm sure it's an exaggeration but they do an amazing job on an already cool song.

Right now I have Pearl Jam's Bootleg from Council Bluffs, IA in my Player, good stuff.  My buddies went to this show and Kansas City before we met in Fargo the next day.

Right now, "Midnight from the Inside Out", from Disc 1 of The Black Crowes - Live.  Good stuff.  Saw 'em twice, and they put on great shows both times.

Lately:

Joni Mitchell, Blue
The Flaming Lips, various
Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here

And Scott, you might have to update this thread next week with some . . .new acquisitions, if you take my meaning. . .  :)

Right now listen to:  Roger Waters - The Pros and Cons of Hitchiking.  If you are a Pink Floyd fan then this is a must have.  Yet another concept album.  What makes this unique is Eric Clapton plays guitar on the whole album.  It kind of gives you a feeling of what could of been he had been in Pink Floyd.

I found an my copy of Superjoint Ritual - Use Once and Destroy.

It's another one of Phil Anselmo's (Pantera, Down) more successful sidebands.

It's straight up heavy metal, with a tinge of Southern Rock. You can thrash to it, you can groove to it, and it's just chunky metal.

Good stuff, especially for Pantera fans.

Yep!  I've finally tracked down a bootleg of that infamous fabulous Chicago show from last year where Scott Stapp apparently in an alcohol- or drug-induced stupor, slurs the lyrics to his own songs, disappears for a while, and then comes back, and performs the rest of the show either sitting down or laying down on stage rocks everybody's ******* socks off!  You're gonna love it!

But anyway, currently playing is 1984's PURPLE RAIN, from Prince and the Revolution.  Say what you want about the man--he's weird, he sucks, he's too feminine, whatever.  I don't give a ****.  This is a perfect album.  The period between 3:19 and 5:14 of "The Beautiful Ones" is some of the most emotional music I've ever heard in my life.

Good Lord.
