2011 Hasbro Fans' Choice Poll

Cool list Jeff.  It will be interesting to see how this compares to the official list.  I always wondered if there might be a little rigging of the numbers across all the sites.

I am definitely not in the Jocasta crowd.  Wasn't there an issue with her in prior polls where some people were voting multiple times to get her into the top ten?  I know JD was able to track and block multiple votes, but do other sites use similar rigor?  Just wondering if her rank is driven by a strong vote on the "less capable" sites.  I suppose someone that really wants her could go vote on every site as well - I was lazy and just voted here.

Yes, there has been ballot-stuffing for her in the past...  Some of it more clear than others, but definitely there were issues.

Scum was able to completely omit ballot stuffers, and it worked well.  I find their list pretty reflective of their actual participants wishes...  Same with ours.  Like Scott said, when you weed them out, Jocasta Nu doesn't even make the top 20.  It's a vocal minority from what I've seen.

I'd buy a Jocasta Nu too, so I'm not biased in that regard.  I don't really want her though.  It's like Yarna...  I didn't want a 6 teeted stripper action figure.  ANYONE from Jabba's den of sin was more on my list.  Any resculpt, any hero, any villain, any background weirdo...  Even a table.  But I bought Yarna when they made her and she's a decent action figure for what she is.

Jocasta's kind of like the Jedi version of that (other than I prefer OT to PT I guess).  I'll buy her if/when she gets made, but I'll not be voting for her to get made because it's just nothing I'm interested in ever owning.  Basically any figure in Jeff's list is more appealing to me.

One of the main reason Jocasta does not do as well on this website is because MOST of the members here prefer the OT over the PT.  I don't get that same vibe over at say Rebelscum.  I can see why she gets more votes than Doallyn and Torryn Farr and the others.  The main reason is she actually gets a featured scene with a main character Kenobi.  She's just intriguing enough to get more votes than simple background characters.  I was actually happy to see her in the CW episode.  I think a Clawdite takes her form and we wind up seeing her in some action.  LOL!  She's got that episode going for her along with those that watch the CW.   All of that together bumps her up just that much higher than the others like Sim Aloo, Nikto, Doallyn, Lars, etc.  I really don't think there is that much tampering or conspiracy going on with the votes.  She's just more recognizable then what people might think.

A couple of those bottom ones could also get pushed up if Hasbro pulls out figures they know they are currently making.  I can see them possibly pulling Princess Kneesaa, since she is a possibility as an exclusive.

She didn't even finish in the top 10 at RS.  Yeah there is some demand...but if the same 3-4 people all vote on all of the same small websites (and for Ackmena and Princess Keneesa for that matter) that is going to skew the vote IMO and isn't really in the spirit of the poll in general. 

She may win and I don't really care...I'll buy her too I just don't buy the overwhelming support is all

I'd say false on that...there are some people that want Jocasta made...not a lot.  And I'd say a large reason for her being so high on the list above is that some people are way more active on other forums polls.  Larger polls such as ours and RS show that she is really not that popular

By "a lot" of people, I dont mean millions, lol - but apparently enough to place her in the #1 spot across all the websites - that says something right there.  All the sites I've checked out, have made sure people with the same IP arent voting multiple times, so people do want her made.  Personally, she's not my first choice, but I think the numbers speak for themselves.  I guess we all just have to wait and see how the general public votes...

Just looking over it, it looks like I have numbers for 21 sites that submitted lists and it looks like 13 of them picked Jocasta Nu in their top 10.  Toryn Farr was right behind her with 10.

I don't have all the numbers yet because I still have to figure out exactly what 10 that Imperial Shipyards and Core Planets submitted (they had ties and I don't know how they resolved them yet).  But it looks like we have the following origins for the characters:

43 EU
21 ROTJ
8 ANH
8 TCW
7 AOTC
6 TESB
3 ROTS
3 TPM

I'm actually happy that EU has the largest representation because that's where most of the best character choices are at this point.  There are a few like Toryn Farr and Cliegg Lars that still need to be done, but a lot of other Saga characters are really obscure or are updates to figures we already have, and in some cases are pretty guaranteed even without a poll. 

I think more Emperor/Sidious figures, Piett, Tarkin, Nien Nunb and some of the Leia variants (Ewok, Bespin Gown which was oddly missing) are just a matter of time now and I hate seeing them on these polls because i feel like they're wasting space.

I'm surprised by the number of sites that submitted Nikto (5, assuming they're all vintage deco) and Nute Gunray (also 5).  I think I posted over on RS that it feels like there are a few sites that share a lot of the same members and those members used this poll to push characters up the lists that don't necessarily belong there.  Any time more than one Neimoidian makes one of these polls I have to call it suspect.  Besides, just looking through some of the forums to pull out the lists over the last two days, I saw a lot of familiar names on multiple sites.  On a site like this or RS that have larger communities, it's harder to do, but when you're talking Imperial Shipyards or Core Planets (who had like 13 total voters) with smaller communites, it's not that hard to pull off.

I'm glad Jeff went through and pulled out the top 20...I was starting to go crosseyed looking at Excel, trying to make sure I didn't mix up my rankings.  Finally gave up and just decided to look at characters submitted by the most sites, their origins and things like that.

There are more Neimodian fans out there than you think.

I don't see why Nute Gunray doesn't belong there.

There was also no rule that said we couldn't submit our votes to every site, that's actually what you should do.

I did on all the sites I knew that were doing it, Gunray was my #1 on all the ones I did too.
