Since I liked both movies but thought KK was spectacular it's hard for me to understand why TLWW is beating out KK right now.

It sounds like the next movie in the series is officially on track now for a late 2007 release.  The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian will be the next in the series.

Prince Caspian poster

I was a little underwhelmed by the first movie--it just seemed too storybook and cutesy for my taste--but they're claiming this will be more realistic, similar to how the Potter movies have been progressively more serious. IIRC this one has a more exciting story anyway.

What I will find fascinating is what will happen as the series moves farther away from the cutesy and very well known as The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe to lesser known but just as good other books.  Its been a while since I read the entire series, I should make a revisit soon

The claims that Prince Caspian will less cutesy is good reason why they should have done the Magicians Nephew first. I would liked to have watched the series in order and watch it grow.

Uhh ... I don't think P. Caspian was ever planned for 2009. And what does that have to do with Prince of Persia?
