Walmart TVC "Original 96" Exclusives

What a ******* pain in the ass - random clicking until you get a hit and then hoping whatever is in your cart stays active until you have them all in there.  Twice I thought I had them all in my cart only for one to "expire" and I was back to clicking that one until I got over a free shipping threshold.

I *think* I've been able to pre-order everything I wanted, with free shipping spread over two orders - 1x R2, 1x Helder, 1x Isdam, 2x DSG, 4x Stormtrooper.  Now we wait to see if the pre-order gets cancelled or not.

I've managed to preorder at least one of each...but I'm trying to get more Stormtroopers.

They took the VC140 Stormtrooper and added rocker ankle joints for the Walmart Nevarro Cantina eWEB deluxe release and now they have take that figure and added an ANH accurate holster to it.

So it's VC140 Stormtrooper with new rocker ankles and ANH-style holster.

I have twelve thousand Stormtroopers at this point.  I'm going to buy just the one so that I have at least one of each... if they go on sale or show up in a four pack later...

It should be the definitive OT Stormtrooper.

I managed to pick up everything I wanted:

2x R2-D2
1x Death Star Gunner
1x Helder Spinoza
1x Isdam Edian
7x Stormtrooper

This is all over 3 different orders so it should be a minimum of 13 different types of mailers.

I was just able to get the two Bespin Guards. It wanted me to add something else for free shipping, so I went to toss in a Stormtrooper. But "Sold Out" so instead I added the gangle-creature Death Star Gunner.  I could've done another BG and found a different head to stick on it, but I do feel like a 4-pack will come sooner or later...

Glad I set myself an alarm for today and decided not to check in before hand...

So far I've managed to add 4 DSTs, 1 R2, and 1 of each guard to my cart. No luck on the Stormtrooper before it sold out. 


EDIT: I had the DSTs and R2 in my cart but they sold out before I could actually checkout. Gotta love these retailer exclusive preorders, this is such a smooth and easy process.

EDIT 2: The stormtrooper momentarily popped back up I was able to add it to my cart, but couldn't checkout.

Luckily I checked in a few hours before the time these were supposed to go up for sale and I managed to get 1x Bespin Guard (Edian), 1x DS Gunner, and 1x R2. I kept getting the check again later message for the Stormtrooper, which is now sold out.

I just now got Bespin Guard (Spinoza). (That link keeps taking me to the Walmart Collectors Con starts now splash page and earlier the figure was not showing in the Star Wars exclusives section.)

My cc expires in July and I had to use a different payment method for my first order. The second order just now accepted the same cc that expires in July.

That might be a problem.  Walmart has shown that they are unwilling to update payment methods on existing preorders.  If the card expires before they deliver the preorder?  They’re going to cancel the preorders with the expired cards.

I got everything in 2 orders.  Was able to get 1x of everything except the Stormtrooper this morning.  Checked the Stormtrooper but it only allowed me to get 1 since it said it was a popular item, so I bought another DSG and a Gung Ho to put it over the free shipping threshold.

Yeah, will have to re-order BG Spinoza and cancel the one placed on my expiring cc. I guess better to deal with the minor hassle now. But that was strange I was forced to use an alternate payment on the first order but not on the second.

Ah, I was not forced to use a different method the first time. There was a short blurb warning about the cc expiring that I heeded on the first order and missed in my rush to get the second order placed.

I’ve seen people on the TVC Facebook group saying that Walmart banned them from placing online orders because they returned damaged figures.  I don’t know how many returns they made, but it seems like a pretty vengeful thing for Walmart to do.  Especially since those returns were prompted by Walmart’s shoddy handling of the products. 

As for my orders?
Order #1  3 x Helder Spinoza

Order #7  2 x Stormtroopers

Ordinarily I would try to get as many items in a single order as I could.  But the shopping carts on the Walmart app are notorious for items disappearing.  So I place an order that will trigger the free shipping threshold and move on to the next item. 

As for how these are going to ship?  It’s a total crapshoot.

I have mixed feelings on this.  WM does a really bad job on handling these figures.  The latest TCV came all in separate envelopes for me and they were all pretty poorly damaged.  I returned for a replacement and they shipped the replacements all in one box, slightly less damaged but still damaged on every card.  That's frustrating.

On the flip side, I've read several FB Group posts about guys ordering 10 of the same figure, then shipping 9 of the 10 back because they weren't perfectly mint.  There is a lot of gray space between a folded card and crushed bubble versus a slight ding on the bottom left corner. If the banned people are the ones consistently ordering way more than they ever intend to keep and leveraging free shipping back and forth, Walmart should 100% ban those guys as they are ruining inventory and costs for the rest of us.

As for this wave, I had the same struggles ordering as everyone else.  Dedicated a solid hour to getting all 5 across three separate attempts through the morning, but I finally got to 2x of each and 4x stormies across just two orders.  Royal pain in the ass to order, but I'm just happy to have them (hopefully) secured as WM exclusives are pretty hard to track down in store where I live.
