Ah okay.  I’m in Chicago so you’d think I have roughly the same regional situation… if it’s all for shipping I suppose it’s all the same.

I looked because I was curious… $200 to $250 on eBay right now.  What a little disaster Target has created.

Lucked into getting one ordered yesterday morning and it was just delivered.

Nice. I still haven't even happened to load it up when there was an option to try to put it into a shopping cart.  I've been checking whenever I grab my phone which means I've been checking a lot.  Nada.

I’ve checked over 100 times now and am convinced it is only showing up in the App. Very frustrating.

This has only shown up once at 4am as available to ship for me, and it sold out before I could finish the transaction.

Yesterday morning it showed up as limited stock (though unable to order for pickup) for the first time at a couple of local stores, but too far for me to go on a toy run.

Today it showed up in a lot of local stores as limited stock, including the one closest to me, so I decided to give it a try. The store opens at 8, I was on the road at 7:30, and somehow it went to zero inventory in those few minutes, before the store was even open.

So, being out already anyway, I went to the next nearest store that had shown it in stock. I got there just as they opened at 8, but the shelf was empty. I spotted a team member stocking the toy section who had some of the mixed stock cases these have been shipping in, so I asked for her help. After checking shelves she went to the back and brought out 2 more mixed stock cases, and one (only one) of these was in there.

While I am happy to have them and will buy more if the opportunity arises, it was too much work and the preorder bait and switch did sting.

In Chicago we have a bunch of the little half sized targets and I pop into them at lunch sometimes… the one I went into today has a whole back end cap they’re settings up for Star Wars and it had a whole shelf for this set.  They don’t have any, but I take this to mean they’re expecting them. 

So I’m not going to panic buy one of these…

Not trying to force you to panic buy, but all three of the Targets closest to me have had that endcap with the empty shelf set since second half of April.

Let's hope that means they're expecting a dozen or so per store, eventually. 

Its been awhile since there was a Target exclusive that sold out quickly, so I'm not too worried about finding these even if Target has totally botched the rollout.

This end cap is brand new, I think... But I don't know for sure I suppose.

Like Nick said, I know my local Targets have had the endcap, with an empty shelf meant for this set, since then -

This item was supposed to be on a "May the 4th" endcap along with a bunch of other stuff (BS6" Range Trooper, BS6" Jedha Stormtrooper, Epic Hero X-Wing/Luke).  I was at a Target last night that had the endcap set up and had a shelf tag for this, but the shelf was empty.

It's really frustrating that we don't really have any idea WTF happened or what the plan is going forward.

I've seen some Targets have "limited stock" on the website at maybe 5 Targets in the area, but none that are even close to me.  From reports, that "limited stock" means only 1 since those that I know that have gotten them said that there was only one on the shelf.

2 of my stores showed Limited Stock this morning so I went out at lunch and one was sold out before I got there, the other still showed in stock but they claimed they didn’t have it when I asked at CS. I expected nothing less really, I can already tell this is going to be a nightmare to deal with…

Fair enough, I hadn't seen that at the small Targets at all... they haven't had any SW stuff in 6 months, maybe a year.  I thought this end cap was new at this store, but now I have to admit I'm not 100% sure on that.

Seems everyone is saying they ordered off the app, but I don't see a real difference between the app and the website.  Besides the time it disappeared between hitting add to cart and purchase, I have seen one at store like 40+ miles away.  My local target has the endcap with the tag, but zero stock.
