2025 Disney Star Tours Starspeeder 1000

Remember that D23 exclusive 2024 Star Tours Starspeeder 3000 set?

This time they are calling it the 2025 Disney Star Tours Starspeeder 1000.  It sounds like it still has the stand and the electronics, but no more Captain Rex (who is still selling for around $100+ on ebay carded).  Instead this version has a Droid Factory sculpt C-3PO.  The voice phrases in the electronics reflect this as well - no more RX-24 lines, but C-3PO instead.

No surprise there.  I think I’d rather track down the two figures than have this whole set.  Maybe I’ll get lucky and they won’t be new…there was an R2 with the last one that I bought.  Hopefully at least that one is the same.

I can't say that I'm surprised by the news.  Disney must have invested SO MUCH into the design and development of the D23 exclusive Starspeeder that another release seemed like a near certainty.  What company could seriously afford to make that vehicle and only release 3000 of them?

I have the D23 version and it's awesome!  I'm going to pass on this one for now.

I went ahead and ordered this assuming that I won’t get charged until it ships.  I figured that will at least give me options for later if it sells out - I don’t think it’ll sell out though.  I am assuming this one is going to be mass produced.  If nothing else I’ll have time to figure out what the deal is with the figures and what the best way to get those is if I  need to get them at all.

It's a difficult choice, but I'm going to pass for the time being.  I can't justify the expenditure.

I paid $350 for the D23 release.

I'm passing on the Starspeeder 1000 right now, mainly because I have the 3,000 and no room for another.

I saw the 3000 in Hollywood studios for weeks after the release.  I have a feeling we'll be seeing this version for a long time.

Just like everything else on Pulse today, this one also pre-sold out before I was able to grab one. It is sure seems like these are all being affected by potential supply shortages.

Does Disney charge in full for preorders or do I get charged when this ships?  Google led me to believe it would be charged when it ships, but I do have a pending $385 charge on my card for the Starspeeder now.  I'm wondering if that's going to clear or disappear until the Fall...

I have a hard time believing they're capping the production of this one low enough to be gone in a day, but the new Starspeeder is also listed as sold out. 

I guess ordering one yesterday was the right move...
