Hi Cory!
I'm coming back for an extremely limited engagement, so long as to just address the issue that drove me away from the site for good.
Drove you away from the site "for good", but yet, here you are again, to get the last word in. I see. I called it earlier--you'd be back. And you'll come back again, to reply to this. It's all good.
* I did indeed mean "Indy", Matt. I think the Indiana Jones Trilogy components are 3 of the most over-rated, and boring movies ever made. That's my opinion, which I expect everyone to respect, without going ape**** on me.
Actually, yeah, you meant "Indiana Jones-loving heart" when you said "indy film-loving heart". Because the Indiana Jones Trilogy and
Lost in Translation have so much in common.
And yeah, if you think the Indiana Jones films suck, that's your opinion, and thank you for mentioning that, because that's just further proof that your opinions suck ass.
Raiders of the Lost Ark = bad,
Cat in the Hat = good. Gotcha.
* In regards to opinions, I put mine on the table, and it got attacked. You obviously can't respect my opinion because it's just your nature to strike back at anyone, myself in particular, that has extremely eclectic tastes, and extreme opinions.
Your tastes are "extremely eclectic"? How so? And please, provide some examples of me "striking back at anyone" with "extremely eclectic tastes and/or opinions". I "strike back" at you, because frankly, you suck. That's all. You're a sleazebag.
You didn't respect mine. I went against the grain, and said what so many other people want to say, in that "LiT" was overrated, and that Bill Murray has lost his touch. Is it that I am just too critical, or is everyone else too oblivious to the fact that he hasn't "acted" since maybe "Rushmore"?
Hey, if someone has to lose his touch to get nominated for Best Actor Oscars, then so be it. I think the only person that's out of touch here is you.
That said, you reach deep down into your bag o' sarcasm and pull out an atypical Jango Fett rib. It's old, it's boring, and it's really immature. Why couldn't you have just said what you said the 2nd time around instead?
Because I love mocking the man-crush that you
have had (yeah right) on Jango. It's very funny to me. Oh, but I know, you're over him. It's cool.
Why is it that when Jesse James made a remark in regards to Bill Murray "not even belonging on the list", he got away scott free? Is this a double standard? Is he more well respected, does he have special priviledges?
Absolutely, he's more well-respected than you. Is that even a question worth answering? Is that not obvious enough already? I'll give JJ a pass on that one--because, hell, he's partially right--Bill Murray's not "funny" in the way that most of the other people on that list are. I don't even understand why LIT's considered a comedy. I sure didn't consider it a comedy as I watched it. That's a drama with a few funny moments. Now, because Bill might not be a funny ha-ha actor like he used to be in the eighties, does that mean that he's washed-up, or that he's "lost his touch"? Oh hell no. Things change. His acting style has changed. That's fine.
* I do court the nickname "Cinemaddiction" because I am extremely big fan of movies in general. That said, don't expect me to be anything less than vocal about movies that I feel are getting undue credit.
Actually, now that I think about it, I'm glad that you don't get/like/appreciate LIT. Frankly, with your horrible taste in movies, it wouldn't feel right for you to like the crap you do, along with an instant classic like LIT. So please, continue your criticism of that terribly overrated film. It just falls in line with everything else.
* Not once did I say I was anxiously awaiting the release of the "Cat in the Hat". I said I was patiently looking forward to it, then when the opportunity to buy another movie, one I had more interest in came along, the idea was scrapped, in favor to build my classic Horror library. The novelty of "Cat in the Hat" wore off after renting it. Is that a crime, to retract a statement or throw it on the backburner?
You're not going to make me go drudge up quotes from Rebelscum, are you? You said you were "patiently looking forward to it". Give me a break. Chances are, you probably bought it already, and don't want anyone to know, because of the crap that you've already gotten about it. Don't know if you've noticed or not, but you have a tendency to change your mind on things at the drop of the hat--or whenever you start to catch sh!t about something.
Jango's Apartment, anyone?
* As for "Schindler's List", I don't remember any instance where I was "on the fence" about it. I've seen it 2 times before, enjoyed it, but initially, I didn't think I would have the funds to snag it. I did, and I did. I was never indecisive, and while I do admit, my opinion is sometimes swayed by popular opinion, this time, it wasn't.
Were
Cat in the Hat and
Schindler's List not right around the same price? You were definitely planning to purchase TCITH, and didn't know about Schindler's, which was out a week before.
* Yes, I do in fact own both "Fast and the Furious" movies. I also own "Airheads", "Earth Girls are Easy", in addition to "Hackers" and "Judge Dredd". That said, I also own 'Schindler's List", "Silence of the Lambs", and "Almost Famous". Would anyone other than myself ever bother to acknowledge that others on this board and myself have similar tastes? Nope. Why? Because it's more fun to attack what they feel are the weak spots in one's collection.
Your tastes suck balls, dude. I mean, hello? You want to bag on great films like Lost in Translation, or Raiders of the Lost Ark, but at the same time, say how great garbage like 2Fast2Furious is. I have some crappy films too--
Showgirls, for one. Garbage is garbage, and that's fine, but (again), your tastes--they suck. You're a joke.
It's a shame that people look for the indifferences, than the similarities, all for their own pleasure. Breaking others down to build themselves up, in some way or another.
Get off your high horse. I've already said it too many times, so I'm not going to say it again.
It's an honest shame that I was driven out of this site because of the staff's ignorance to address issues that had been brought to them time and time again, all because they didn't see the harm in them, although it was clearly making a once loyal user extremely uncomfortable. That's not the real issue here, though, so I digress.
*****, please. You left this site on your own accord. You don't like the way I (or someone else) responded to your ridiculous comments? Grow a pair of balls, be a man, and deal with it. How many times have you deleted your accounts now? Three? You're looking for attention. Nobody else are going to see things your way because you have a twisted worldview. "Think yourself straight" ring any bells? You're f--ked up, man.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to listen, and hopefully those of you that were addressed, both directly and indirectly, will take something from this.
Oh, man, it's getting deep. You should start a seminar tour: "Life Lessons from Jango Fettish".
God bless you all, and best of luck in all your future endeavors.
Cory H.
Thanks.
And. . . we'll see you back in a few days or weeks to respond to this. Any ideas on which screen-name you're going to use next time?
Maybe you can take another shower to "cool off" before you come back again. . .
