Google News doesn't mention anything.  Sure it's not one of those Norm MacDonald fake stories?

Sir, I would never knowingly post false news of a celebrity dying.

When he first posted the picture I typed R.E.M. into Google and got dozens of hits.  The statement came from their website:

I though someone said that was Depeche Mode...

And I also thought this thread was about celebrity deaths, not bands quitting.   :P

Yeah that was never Depeche Mode

Bob Hopes wife died the other day at 102, thats a good innings
The problem with America is stupidity I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself

Very sad news. He will be missed. I got to agree with the Apple statement: “The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”

That's a shame.  He was a crazy old goat, but he was entertaining.  Now the Raiders might start playing well...

He looks like one of the Walking Dead.

No he doesn't:
a) The TWD Zombies look 10x better
b) he done walking, bro ;)

But er... this news is in the wrong thread. I'd hardly call Khadaffi a celebrity....  :-X

And why is it that everytime there's something like this, we get a shaky, 320x200 video? Don't these people know how to bring the news? Take your cam, hold it steady, record for a minute or three and then go party like crazy!
