Oh yeah, Ewan was in an episode of ER a few years ago
That's actually one of my favorite episodes of ER, long before it became the Abby/Carter dramabomb in the last few seasons before Noah Wyle's departure. Anyway...

Ewan's had a very interesting, diverse, and entertaining career. I was actually very familiar with him from "Trainspotting" from before he was cast as Obi-Wan, and even in fairly disappointing films, he's always the consumate actor. A fine example of this was "Brassed Off" where he played a miner in a brass band.
If you want to see Natalie in an amazing role, be sure to check out the previously mentioned "Leon: The Professional." Jean Reno is amazing, Gary Oldman is brilliant (as usual), but she really steals the entire film, in her first screen performance no less. Actually nearly all of her film work, pre-TPM, was quite good, especially Ted Demme's "Beautiful Girls."
And as for other SW-alum brilliant performances in non-SW films, just look at this list:
-Liam Neeson in "Schindler's List"
-Christopher Lee in the LOTR films
-Samuel L. Jackson in "A Time to Kill" and "Jackie Brown"
-Frank Oz in everything to do with the Muppets
-Jimmy Smits on "NYPD Blue" (not a film, but still, he's good)
-Keisha-Castle Hughes in "Whale Rider"
And lest we forget "When Sith Lords Converge" or, as it is known in the rest of the world, Tim Burton's "Sleepy Hollow" which reunited Ian McDiarmid and Ray Park, and IIRC, had an appearance from Christopher Lee as well.
