no harm in Glenfidditch....although it's on pretty much every bar around here too, and I'll usually pass it over for a better blended scotch...or sometimes a bourbon.
Not a huge bourbon fan, but I have fallen in love with Woodford Reserve.
The Glenfiddich was from a small local store while I was running a conference and couldn't get away. It was that or Glenlivet and I have some smaller bottles (15/18 yo) at home so thought I'd try something else. It's common as dirt but I quite enjoyed it - may have had more to do with a need than any great flavor.
No love of Bourbon - abused that too much skiing in my late teens and early twenties: two wine skins, one with Bourbon, one with Baby Duck used as a chaser for the Bourbon. It's a wonder we didn't ski into any trees. I have a bottle of Jack Daniels that is still sealed and must be nearing 40 years old; it's a pity it doesn't age in the bottle.
Dale, it's always happy hour somewhere in the world.

I like the Big Rock stuff for sure but try to stick with the local Fort Garry stuff (which I think Scott will likely come in and claim as Minnesota's

)
