The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Prequel to a Prequel?
« on: May 28, 2005, 11:23 AM »
Who came up with this one...Supershadow?  ;D  I really think that the movies are done.  Star Wars is going to live on, but not in movie theaters.

I wouldn't be opposed to this storyline being explored in an EU animated series.  But the timeline sounds way off.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: "Evolutions" assortment...

There are definitely some good options for the Evolutions line.  Here are some I've thought of...

Obi-Wan Kenobi
-The Phantom Menace w/ SA, softgoods, rebreather, Obi-Wan's lightsaber, Qui-Gon's lightsaber & CommLink
-Revenge Of The Sith w/ SA, softgoods, lightsaber
-The Empire Strikes Back - Hoth Vision

Luke Skywalker
-A New Hope SA w/ lightsaber, Stormtrooper utility belt, grappling hook, Stormtrooper blaster
-The Empire Strikes Back in Snowspeeder Pilot gear, SA w/ removable helmet, blaster, holster, grappling line, lightsaber & mine
-Return Of The Jedi SA Throne Room duel w/ binders & lightsaber

Han Solo
-A New Hope SA w/ regular blaster & holster, Stormtrooper blaster & holster and medal
-The Empire Strikes Back SA, Carbon Freeze Chamber Han w/ Carbonite block, binders, SG jacket
-Return Of The Jedi - SA Endor battle Han w/ SG trenchcoat, mines

Jedi Masters
-The Phantom Menace Qui-Gon Jinn w/ SA, sg, lightsaber, commlink, holoprojector
-A New Hope Obi-Wan Kenobi w/ SA, sg, lightsaber & training remote
-The Empire Strikes Back Yoda w/ SA, sg, backpack, pot, gimer stick, light

The Fetts
-Attack Of The Clones Jango Fett w/ SA, removable helmet, blaster pistols, both rocketpacks
-Attack Of The Clones Mess Hall Clone Trooper in red fatigues
-Return Of The Jedi Boba Fett w/ SA, sg, rifle

Bounty Hunters
-Zam Wessel w/ SA, sg, two different heads, blaster pistols, rifle
-Greedo w/ SA, blaster pistol
-Zuckuss w/ SA, sg, blaster rifle

Astro Droids
-R2-D2 w/ various tool arms, extendable third leg
-R4-P17 (ROTS) w/ repair tools, removable dome
-R5-D4 w/ extendable third leg, motivator

Here are my ten...

-Cin Drallig - Jedi Swordmaster
-Obi-Wan Kenobi - SA, softgoods

-Spec Ops Clone Trooper
-Commander Gree
-Commander Cody
-BARC Trooper

-Emporer Palpatine - SA, Senate Chamber Duel

-Padme Amidala - bun hairdo

-2-1B Droid

-Merumeru - Wookiee Captain

Palpatine tells the newly dubbed Darth Vader "Only one has learned the secrets of eternal life.  Together we will unlock the secrets of the force..."

That seems to rule out Palpatine to me.

I thought finding Animation Director Rob Coleman, and IMLer's John Knoll and Roger Guyett was a find.  They were in the opera box next to Palpatine and Anakin.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: How big is your army?
« on: May 26, 2005, 05:37 PM »
The ROTS Armies continue to grow...

15 x #6 Clone Troopers
6 x Clone Pilot
4 x Clone Commander
7 x AT-TE Gunners
4 x Target Clone Troopers
2 x Deluxe Clone Troopers
4 x #41 Clone Trooper
1 x BARC Speeder with BARC Trooper
2 x AT-RT with AT-RT Driver

4 x Royal Guard (red)
4 x Royal Guard (blue)

4 x General Grievous's Bodyguards
1 x Super Battle Droid
1 x Super Battle Droid from Deluxe Obi-Wan
2 x Battle Droid
2 x Tri-Droid Fighters
1 x Vulture Droid with Buzz Droid
1 x Neimoidian Warrior

10 x Sneak Preview Wookiee Warrior
5 x #43 Wookiee Warrior (tan)
4 x #43 Wookiee Warrior (brown)
4 x Yarua
1 x Rorrworr
1 x Tarfful
1 x Chewbacca

I think I'm going to seriously cut back on the the regular Clone Troopers.  Considering that you only see about 20 or so all white Clones in ROTS, it seems kind of silly to have quite so many all white Clone Troopers.  I'll probably get a few more of Clone Trooper #41, but after that I'm going to hold off on more regular Clones until they start offering repaints of the Utapau, Spec Ops and Shock Trooper legions.

Other Toy Lines / Re: McFarlane Sportspicks

Dr. J looks awesome.  Between the 70's 'fro and the ABA ball, it's a sweet looking figure.

It doesn't seem that Liam Neeson was uncooperative.  He took part in the Vanity Fair group photo and also attended one of the charity premiers that was held in New York.

After seeing the DVD's for both TPM and AOTC, I've seen that Lucas is a ruthless editor.  There are some good scenes that were cut from both movies.  The one that comes to mind in AOTC is when Padme brings Anakin to meet her parents.  It works very well from an acting and exposition standpoint, and it makes the development of the love story somewhat less herky-jerky.  But Lucas saw fit to cut it because it was a semi-long scene and he thought the movie was running long.

I would venture an educated guess (I work as an editor) that he felt ROTS was running long, too, and cut this scene as well.  He achieves the basic goal of this scene at a later point when Yoda and Obi-Wan are talking in the conference room on the Tantive.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - Of Natural History

I think that's the last one, anyway.  I don't buy a whole lot of CDs anymore.

WOW... I didn't think anyone listened to them besides me  :D

I've got one of their albums.  Intriguing stuff.  Certainly not pop crap.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Which Clone is Commander Bly?

Nope.  I was making an argument based on the info that was available.  And it's still contradictory.  Beyond that, I've just been making the observation that you are master of the pointless.  Now GFY.   ;D

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Zett's scene
« on: May 24, 2005, 01:33 PM »
True, Lando.  All of the Jedi we saw getting gunned down by Clone Troopers were ambushed.  There was no warning, and that's what made it so disastrous.

Bail Organa called it the Tantive.  He made no reference to a number as I recall.  There are also signifigant differences based on some background on the Episode IV ship.  Notably, that by the time of A New Hope, the ship had been signifigantly armored.  DK's Incredible Cross Sections has some background on that.

OWNED.  So totally OWNED.

Yes, you were indeed.

BFD.  What do you want, a medal?  It's trivial things like this that illustrate what a  ::) wonderful  ::) human being you really are, LOL!

BTW, I don't recall a single line or name being uttered in the scenes on Felucia.  It makes your personal little crusade to name every clone trooper that much more pointless.

Blue Clone Trooper Bust   :o   :o

GG Blue Clone Trooper Bust   :o

I'm surprised to see that second one go for $325.  That's kind of low for the blue Clone Trooper.
