Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Clone Trooper Multi Packs
« on: August 20, 2003, 11:32 AM »
I'm assuming these are all of the non-poseable variety?

I think this might actually be a repaint of the red Clone Trooper.  This seems just like the K-Mart 2-packs that were done last year.  Hopefully they don't get them.

I can't believe that people are willing to pay that much over retail.  Especially when these figures will be readily available at retail in a relatively short period of time.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The joys and frustrations of home buying...
« on: August 19, 2003, 09:49 PM »
Looks like I should check in here.   I've been checking out some condo's with a local realtor, and the whole thing is frightening, to say the least!  Living in the NY tri-state area is not all it's cracked up to be, especially when it comes to real estate.

Emmitt, according to today's sports update at the Spawn boards, will be the ONLY player in the 12" line to have multiple uniforms.  He'll be available as a Cardinal and as a Cowboy.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Isnt it time for a Resculpt of Ben Kenobi OT
« on: August 19, 2003, 03:20 PM »
I thought that the POTJ Ben Kenobi was pretty good.  And that only came out about 2+ years ago?  It's one of my favorites from the POTJ line.  There was also Ben from the 25th Anniversary 2-pack.  That was definitely an upgrade from the POTF2 Flashback figure.

As for how they could improve it....

Make a similar figure to the POTJ version, but with softgoods from the waist down.  Then, also give him the Jedi robes, also in softgoods.  The one that came with the SAGA Obi-Wan pilot is pretty good, so that's a starting point.

Then, package him as a Deluxe figure with the Death Star's Tractor Beam control station.  That would be a Ben Kenobi I'd be very pleased to see, and would be happy to buy.

And finally...give him his own lightsaber hilt.  My one and only gripe with the POTJ Ben is that he had Luke's lightsaber hilt attached to his belt, not his own.

No, it wasn't scrapped.  They just haven't released any images of  it yet.  They announced that set months ago, and until we hear otherwise, Gannon and Brooks will be on the way probably around November or December.

The current box set that's out is Favre and Urlacher.  The next one, to be released next month, is McCaffrey and Thomas (who's based on Anthony Thomas, fyi).

Gannon and Brooks will probably be released around the time that NFL7 is hitting stores.  After that, expect the announcement for the Super Bowl exclusives!  My money is that they'll offer an Oiler's Eddie George and a Texan's Aaron Glenn.

I just wish that McFarlane had made at least one set of Team USA.  I thought the Team Canada series was really cool, But, we came in second in the Olympics to Canada, and there were already several players from Team USA who were in the Sports Picks line.  Where's the love for US Hockey?

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Bounty Hunter Pack: Have You Found It?
« on: August 19, 2003, 10:58 AM »
Haven't seen it at retail yet.  Key word is YET.  I DID see it in Chicago at WWC, but they wanted $40 for it.  I wasn't about to pay double retail just to get it a couple of weeks early.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Anyone want an Amanaman on a SAGA card?
« on: August 19, 2003, 10:56 AM »
The POTJ Deluxe Amanaman is still readily available around here.  AND on clearance, for the most part.  I see no good reason to put it out again.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Emperor, Faytonni, WA-7, Vader and Luke
« on: August 19, 2003, 10:54 AM »
I GOTTA score a Faytonni, and soon!  I gotta get him in time for a show that's coming up here in September.  Anthony Daniels is going to be there, and I'd really like to get him to sign one of these, as well as a "Purchase Of The Droids" cinema scene that I had Phil Brown sign.  Anthony jsut doesn't make that many appearances on the autograph circuit now.
