Star Wars Anthology / Re: Rogue One (SPOILERS)
« on: October 13, 2016, 11:19 AM »
I'm just excited we've got a bunch of new characters, almost none of which is known to survive (granted we don't know if they die either).  I'm looking forward to the freedom the story will have to kill significant characters in the movie and surprise us.

They always demo this on a table / smooth surface.  I wonder how well the walking feature works with carpeting and if the feet get caught and topple the walker.

Rogue One / Re: Rogue One 3.75" Wave 1
« on: October 11, 2016, 03:49 PM »
So now I'm in this stretch of time where I have wave 1, haven't seen the movie, and am trying to stay away from spoilers.  So that leaves me with a few questions about the accessories and how to display these figures.

Great post!  I struggle with this too.

I've opened any Rebels/TFA related figures and displayed them, but any Rogue One items that I've snapped up I've simply left packaged in a corner.  I won't open them or really overly inspect them until after the movie is released.  Like you, I don't want to think too hard about the figures and thus the plot of the movie as I would like as much as possible to be surprised by as many story elements as possible.

Other Collectibles / Re: BB-8 App Enabled Droid by Sphero

I used the Target coupon and bought the force band thinger.  I haven't spent too much time with it, but its kind of neat.  Not sure it was worth the $80 retail price.

Its got a bunch of app interactive games on there and you can mostly control bb-8 with hand motions.  I might need more practice, but its a little crude to control for me at this point.  The kids absolutely loved it though.  They loved learning the hand motions and pretending to use voice commands to bb-8 like they would a dog.

TV-9D9 / Re: Star Wars Rebels - Season 3 (Spoilers)

I assumed that Maul was referring to Obi-Wan who he could seek revenge on.

That would be kind of cool if Obi-Wan offed him a second (and final?) time.

These are available in the app. Just placed my order.

Paul - I don't need you to try and track one of these down for me.

Rogue One / Re: Rogue One Rebel U-Wing Fighter
« on: October 3, 2016, 02:42 PM »
I've watched this pretty closely too, and I'm not 100% sure that all of the scenes with Jyn in spaceships are all taking place in the U-Wing.  Sometimes they seem to be in a fairly small ship (like the size of The Phantom) and other times they seem to be in a ship the size of The Ghost.

They probably all do take place in the U-Wing and its just how they're framing the scenes.  You might think the Mil Falcon is smallish just watching the cockpit scenes.  Its not until you put all the scenes together and see the ship from the outside that you get a sense of how big it is.

LEGO / Re: LEGO Sales and Deals

Amazon has both the City and Friends Advent calendars at 20% right now.  I grabbed both for the kids and will stash them.  These seem to come and go very quickly at retail these days and almost never get marked down anymore.

Still watching to see if the Star Wars one will get a temporary mark down in the coming days as well.

This set is going to have to drop to around $55 for me to bite.

I've done my mini-rant on 6" repaints before...  I just don't have room to grab minor variations and uninteresting redecos in the 6" line.   My wallet (and shelves) can handle a lot more of this in the 3.75" line, but it just doesn't make as much sense in the 6" line.

Dropping these in here in case they go in stock sometime... (we all know how likely that is, right? :P)

- Ackbar
- Ahsoka
- General Lando
- Royal Guard

I know this was originally promised a year ago when this line came out, but have any of the waves ever been available online?

Rogue One / Re: Rogue One Imperial AT-ACT Set

Anyone seen an unboxing / demo of this to know if you can steer the AT-ACT?  Just curious if you can get it to turn large circles, or if the control is really just forward and shoot.

These are now listed in the parks app but currently out of stock.

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: Recent purchases
« on: September 30, 2016, 03:49 PM »
I'm guessing its part of their excellent management training.  When someone asks you why they can't buy something just say, "it was recalled".  You don't need to know the real reason, just vomit up this line, take the item, and walk away.

I'm glad in Minneapolis we've got 197 Target stores and only a handful of Wal-Marts.  If WM was my only decent retail option I think I would drive my car in to a bridge abutment.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Indiana Jones title sequence

It'd be great to see an Indy live action or animated series.

Remind me again, does Disney have any ownership of Indy?  Hopefully Disney does and they can fund this like they've funded Star Wars.

Rogue One / Re: Rogue One 3.75" Deluxe 2-Packs
« on: September 30, 2016, 12:06 PM »
Anybody know if the Deathtrooper in the two pack is any different than the Deathtrooper that is carded on its own?

I don't think we've seen a basic 3.75" version picture yet... one is rumored to be coming, but no pics yet makes it hard to tell if/how different it is. ;)

Holy crap am I an idiot (hold your comments please)!!  I had written down that there was a single carded 3.75" Deathtrooper.  Apparently there isn't one.  No wonder I can't find one at any Target.  ::)
