I ended up getting an acrylic case with one of my carded Kubricks that I can only assume should have been for a vintage figure because it's way too big for a carded Kubrick.  The dimensions are 9.5"H x 3"D x 6.5"W.  Let me know if you're interested.  Oscar Didier sells ones like this for $13.50 +$6 shipping.  I'd say it's on par with his quality, if it's not one of his anyway.  Let's say $10 + actual shipping.  Shoot me a PM if interested.

Watto's Junk Yard / Dryer Problems - Help?
« on: January 19, 2009, 07:39 PM »
So we have a Maytag dryer that is about 6 years old.  Recently, when we're drying clothes in the 'AutoDry' setting, it no longer turns off.  Usually, the setting will adjust according to the moisture level of the clothes and turn off when it senses the clothes are dry.  Now, it just stays at the setting you put it at (More Dry or Less Dry) and doesn't turn off unless you manually turn it off.  We didn't realize it one night and the clothes were drying for about 6 hours before we finally figured out that the dryer was still on.

Anyone out there know a thing or two about dryers and what could be wrong with this?  I'm hoping that it's just a simple part that has gone bad and we only need a quick replacement piece instead of an entire new dryer.  Any help you could lend would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Other Collectibles / Darth Vader Toaster
« on: November 20, 2008, 03:26 PM »
And here I thought I had seen everything...

Darth Vader Toaster

If there's something every Sith Lord knows how to do it's make a balanced breakfast. While the Jedi have to live off of Jawa juice and fried nerfsteak, the Dark Lord of the Sith prefers to have a reminder of his fiery Mustafar defeat at his breakfast table. Every morning he burns that moment into a slice of bread with the Darth Vader Toaster. This black, ominous kitchen appliance easily leaves the mark of Vader's helmet in every yummy piece of toast. Slather some Bantha butter on top, or make two pieces for an extra-Sithy BLT. Force power not required to operate toaster.

$54.99 M.S.R.P.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Recent Purchases
« on: November 19, 2008, 04:49 PM »
I made a pretty good purchase on ebay and was getting ready to post it here when I realized that we didn't have a recent purchases thread in the Reading Room.  Anyway, just scored the following TPB's in one combined auction:

Infinities - A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi
Dark Times - Volume 1, Volume 2
Empire - Volume 1, Volume 7
Rebellion - Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3
Knights of the Old Republic - Volume 2, volume 3, volume 4

I already have the Empire Strikes Back Infinities and the Empire tpb's, so if anyone needs them, shoot me a PM and we can work something out.

Kubricks / 400% Teebo Be@rbrick
« on: September 23, 2008, 03:30 PM »
Didn't see anyone else mention it, but I went to the Medicom website after I saw the posts about Series 10 and came across this one:

I got a new computer at work and wasn't able to create the correct links to the page, but it's the top right line in the 'Limited Item' view.  If anyone could help out with that I'd appreciate it.

Modern Trading / Kubrick Shadow Guard Opener for Carded
« on: August 5, 2008, 08:17 AM »
I have a Kubrick Celebration Japan exclusive Shadow Guard that has a bent card that I'm looking to trade with someone who has one that is MOMC.  The figure is in mint condition, so it would still be great as an opener.  Let me know.  Thanks.

Watto's Junk Yard / Steel Tip Darts
« on: July 18, 2008, 12:33 PM »
Anyone out there play steel tip darts?  I used to be an avid player before my sons were born and have recently started playing again.  Being from the Chicago area I used to belong to the Windy City Darters, but since moving up to Wisconsin I haven't been able to find a league I'm able to participate in without driving all the way down to the city.  Windy City is having their Annual Windy City Open in September, so I only have a few months to get back into form before that tournament.

I finally set up my basement to start playing again and just finished putting up my second board and backer last night.  Here are some shots of the set-up in the basement:

My wife and sister-in-law also used to play in the league with me, so I'm sure the three of us are going to start playing regularly again.  Just wanted to find out if I'm the lone darter on the boards or if there are others out there like me...

Watto's Junk Yard / Building My Own Deck - Photo Journal
« on: May 13, 2008, 09:50 PM »
Hey guys.  This past weekend I started building a deck on our new house.  This is the second deck I've ever built (the first was on our last house), but the first where I'm doing most/all of the work by myself.  With the last deck, my father (retired bricklayer) helped out a lot with the layout, cuts, labor, etc. as I had never built a deck before.  Now he's a bit older and far less physically able to do manual labor.  He's still my consultant, but he's not allowed to do more than that...

So here are a few pictures of what's done so far:

The next stage involves attaching the railing posts and the decking.  I should have that done over the next few weeks.  It's going to take that long because I start my next class this weekend and then it's Memorial Day weekend and we are going camping.  I'll keep posting more pictures once more is completed.

Any professional carpenters out there?  What do you think so far?

Well of the Souls / Medicom Indy & Idol Kub/Be@r 2-Pack
« on: March 26, 2008, 10:17 AM »
There is going to be an Indiana Jones 2-Pack available to celebrate the release Indy 4 this summer.  For those of you that already own the Star Wars Series 2 chase figure, there is enough of a difference between that figure and this year's release.  Although I'm not very happy with the 2-pack release (I would have prefered a full Indy Series of figures), it's better than nothing...

This did not come from the Medicom web-site, but was found at by someone over at KubrickNation.  A picture and link to the website are attached:

edit - just poping in to add a bigger pic - Jeff
