Kubricks / Re: Pepsi Nex Star Wars Be@rbrick Promo
« on: April 3, 2012, 07:58 AM »
Not sure if everyone was aware of these or not, but there was another Be@rbrick promo that was run with the release of TPM in 3D.  The sponsor was Suntory and this time there were only 8 figures. I think 3 of these are re-releases (Yoda, R2-D2, Darth Vader), but it appears as though the Yoda doesn't have the leg detail that the previous release had.  Anyway, just thought I'd post this in case there are more completists out there that couldn't get enough 70% Be@rbrick SW figures!

Just got back from Wrath of the Titans.  Meh.  Good popcorn flick, but nothing I couldn't have waited for on disk.

When we were there last year, we saw the pod race, hoth battle and flew around Kashyyyk.  I believe when I asked, they said that there were 60 different flights that could be seen.

I could totally see a snowspeeder or pod racer coaster.  That would have been an awesome addition to that theme park.

Sorry to hear about Tarkin, Jesse.  I hope it ends up getting better as time passes...

On a personal note, I may be seaking out advice from you as our Great Dane, Buffy, is turning 10 in May.  It's going to be a really rough patch for the entire family when it's her time.

Are we still drafting tomorrow if we only have 5?  Not that it matters as I won't be able to join live tomorrow anyway, just wasn't sure if we wanted more people or not.

Finally saved up the money to order this set.  It was still in-stock on the Project 1/6 site so I contacted Celga to make the purchase.  With the current exchange rate of $1 = 78 yen it only ended up costing me $121.  Now the wait is on to see if they can purchase it and then what they will charge me for shipping and fees.

Bloodbath in Chicago between the Blackhawks and Canucks.  Daniel Sedin was knocked out of the first by Duncan Keith which led to about ten different fights throughout the first and second periods.  Ultimately the Hawks won in OT, but that was a brutal game.

Can't wait to see these guys meet up again in the playoffs >:D!

... I had a custom knee brace made this week and I think it's going to help a lot with getting active again...

Jesse, did you end up getting a Donjoy brace?  I tore my patella tendon in HS but my Ortho said I didn't need a brace after I went through PT.  I continued to play sports for about another decade (baseball, volleyball) until I tore my ACL in the same knee.  After I went through PT for the ACL surgery, I had a Donjoy brace made.  I wore it for everything I played at first, but found that the straps that go across the back of the hamstrings were very restrictive so I stopped wearing it on a regular basis.  It's a great brace and would definitely recommend it to people, I'm just curious to hear what your experience will be once you get yours.

I figured I'd give this a bump again to see if anyone is working out.

I ended up getting back down to about 205 at one point last year.  However, the second half of last year was not very kind to me and I ended up going right back to where I started.  I'm finally finishing up my Masters and things are getting a little better at work, so I've been hitting the workouts again for the last several weeks.  I'm only at about 210, but I've gotten into a groove.  I ended up getting a mountain bike for Christmas so with the weather being nice for the last week or so, I've been out biking with the family.  I'm also able to get on the elliptical on a regular basis and lift almost every night.  I'm going to set my sights on 200 again list last year, but hopefully I'll actually get there this time.

If I can get to my goal weight and start feeling somewhat healthy again, I'm actually considering trying something like P90X.  However, I'm curious, is there anyone on the boards who has tried this and is also almost 40?  I don't want to spend the money on something like this if there's no way I'm actually going to be able to do the workout.  Please let me know your experiences so I can make an informed decision.  Thanks.

I'm digging Marshall only to say the Bears finally have a legit receiver that isn't well past his prime.  If he can keep his attitude in check (I keep having flashbacks of the pre-season with the Broncos when he was punting the ball after catches) and if the offensive line can actually give Cutler time to throw, they might actually have a 1000yd receiver in Chicago for the first time in recent memory...

I currently have all of them with the exception of the HMV Spiderman 1 & 2 releases.  I needed to clear up some space so I put up some of the less main-stream figures and boxed sets for sale, however, no one is interested.  I think that Medicom do a really good job with these when they make them, so I'd love to see them do an Avengers set this year.  However, I'm sure we can expect yet another Spiderman wave...

Treated the family to a round of SS's this weekend.  They are my kids' new favorite treat.  They can't wait to go back there and get another one!
