It's a regular basic figure just like any other.

But it's in a fancy plastic case!  Surely that's worth double the price of regular figures!   :P

Thankfully Target loves to clearance things.  I'll hold out and try to pick him up for 50% off ($6.50ish range) in a few weeks when the clearance starts....  normally I try to support Target's exclusives at full price, but these "twice the price" exclusive figures suck compared to a lot of the other Target exclusives (like the "2 figures for $10" Order 66 sets).

I'm with you.  Not interested unless it hits a heavy discount.  Who is pricing this stuff anyway?  Let's price two figures in specially designed packaging that fits fewer items per case at about $10, but offer up a repaint figure in already existing packaging that fits more items per case and is pegable for about $7.  Oh wait, let's put a plastic case on it and charge $13 instead.   ::)

I'm in a similar boat, but maybe a step ahead (or behind as the case may be).  I swore off getting these initially because I'm...

A.) Running out of space
B.) Not a big fan of them not fitting in with all of the other figs since POTF2
C.) Running out of money
D.) All of the above

After seeing Yoda and Obi, I was pretty happy with my decision.  I do like Anakin and the clones though, and was going to get the AT-TE and mail-away clone, so for the last month or so I've been talking myself into and was just about set on getting them.

Then a week or so ago I heard about all the ridiculous exclusive clones.   ::)  I'm not interested in spending $100 for 5-6 exclusive clones and if I'm not getting those, then I don't need to be a completist with everything else.  So maybe I'll get a few figs here and there, but definitely not doing my 2x or more of each figure with this line.  Way to chase away your consumers Hasbro!

Picked up NECA's 7" scale Alien the other day.  Holy crap, this is a cooooooool figure.  :)  It has all the detail I'd expect from NECA, but articulation I never would have imagined (just because NECA's figures are usually so damn static).

I've put up images and a review if anyone's interested.

Thanks for the pics.  That is a good looking figure, but I don't really like it standing vertical.  Its been a long time since I saw Aliens, but didn't they mostly move on all fours?  Seems a little too "humanoid" for me.

Oil Slick

Kinda lame IMO

Well, its no transformable Stop Light, that's for sure.   ;)

Anyone still seeing the "Real Gear Robots" around Target stores?  I bought Wire Tap V20 and would like to exchange it for a Night Beat 7 or similar robot (looks like a phone and ear piece/Lazerbeak).  I haven't seen these around lately.   :-\

Only picking up the Wolverine (All versions) and the Spiral from this set. Anyone want my Hulk pieces?

I'll probably just get "Shadow" spidey, so you can have my piece as well if you want it.   ;)

Are you talking about the Vintage Land of the Jawas playset?  I had that as well as a Hoth set that I think came from Sears; there was one more similar to the Land of the Jawas playset that was an AT-AT, but the one I had was just a backdrop of the Echo Base hangar.  All three are pretty sweet.

Yeah those!  I think there was a fairly rare Bespin set as well.  Everything comes with a cardboard backdrop these days, but they had little elevators and the base to make a scene - kind of cool, but I guess that's outdated by today's standards.

In WM's around here, they just put them wherever they can fit 'em and it seems to differ from store to store.   ::)

What do you guys think of the old cardboard cut out sets like the Jawa Sandcrawler?    I was never a big fan of them, but they've been growing on me.

?????  you are Wal Mart /Kmart fan?

I would guess not given his avatar.   ;)  I think Mikey was referring to the new logo.

So they've decided to retcon everything? Well that's nice and helpful  :P

"Retcon?"  ???

Finally got these earlier in the week.  A friend found a WM with no less than 8 stacks of cardboard trays of DF figures.  Purchased four sets along several of the new comic packs (10 total) and walked away about $400 poorer.  OUCH.  Haven't spent that much at a retail store since I bought my TV.   ::)

Saw Get Smart last night and it was pretty good.  If you're a fan of Steve Carell, you'll definitely like this.  Had more action than I thought it would and he less of a bumbling goof than the previews make him out to be.  Good popcorn flick for action and some laughs.

Also saw Hancock earlier this week.  I thought the set up was good, liked the premise, and Will Smith really gets into character as always.  Supporting cast was good too, but the plot twist was a little anti-climatic for me.  They could have done a lot more with it and it became fairly predictible.  I'd give it a C - didn't hate it, but wouldn't see it again.

I'm just starting this series now and liking it so far!

I think the "one time use" thing was more a technical aspect of the coupon...  When you got it and printed it out, you couldn't open it up again to print another.  Someone found a way around that though, obviously, and shared it with the world.  (Yay for them by the way)

That's where the "one time use" deal came in...  It technically was something the 85,000 people were to get, print, and never be able to print out again, but they'd at least have the original to go use.  There's obviously ways around that though and people used them.  It is, without a doubt, all Target's fault...  The "removing 'toy' from the coupon" thing though that was going on, was what seemingly ultimately screwed the pooch on this one, and so that is annoying.  Target may have been able to take greater steps to stop that from happening, but ultimately it was people doing that who seem to have stopped all the fun for the rest of us...  Unless of course Target would've caught on that people were using the coupon a ton, and ultimately cancelled the whole program anyway.  I'd love to know if that would've been the case, or if they simply would've just let the good times roll as long as it was used on toys?

Well, I guess I disagree with a lot of you on this.

#1 - anyone that thought this coupon was just randomly thrown out there for everyone to use as many times as they wanted is pretty niave in my book.  Pretty much any coupon that reprinted in the forums was not meant to be delivered to a broad audience and certainly something that offers $5 off a $25 purchase is not intended to go to millions of homes for multiple uses.  People can claim to have not known the details, but I'm betting most people at least suspected they were getting a deal that they really shouldn't be getting.

#2 - I can't believe people think that it was the use of this coupon for non-toys or the actual change in wording of the coupon that caused the coupon to be discontinued.  I used this coupon a lot and sometimes not on toys, but each of the coupons said "toy purchase" on it.  I never had a cashier refuse it - they just scan the UPC and if it works, it works.  Changing the wording on the coupon is a scapegoat for Target - a reason for them to cancel it without admitting their own fault in the process.  Companies need to plan for any kind of coupon in their budget, so if more are redemmed than estimated, they go over budget.  I can guarantee you that if they really only intended this to go to 85k people, they didn't budget for anywhere near 85k of them to be used and they obviously started getting in excess of this number rapidly, so they shut it down.

Maybe I'm just too sensitive this week, but I find it shocking how many people are trying to blame each other for this coupon going away.  It was a great deal and lasted a long time.  99% of the people that got it and used it, probably were never intended to have it, so if you used one even once, just be thankful that you got a good deal.
