EE Daily Deal - 25% off 50th Anniversary 2-Packs.

Maybe my brain is just screwed up from all the price hikes, but $22.50 for 4 super-articulated, well accessorized figures seems like highway robbery at this point.  I'm tempted to buy one of each just for the accessories.

I think the EE "dead" Fring exclusive you're thinking about was a Mezco 7" figure?

Here are the 2015 SDCC ReAction announcements so far -

Had a pretty lively debate about the show last night.  So many people are convinced that Jon is DEAD, dead.  Surprising to me.

I guess, as a book reader, I've seen so many "dead" people come back to life in this series (like Nick pointed out) that I figured Jon had the "Red Lady / Lord of Light / Azor Ahai" card to play.

Reading some of the post-airing coverage of the show, Kit Harrington and the show-runners are sure selling "he's DEAD dead".  What else are they supposed to do to not ruin the surprise I guess?

I was thinking last night though... what if Jon really is DEAD, dead?  I can't imagine how pissed I'm going to be if he's really dead and all the R+L=J stuff was a giant waste of time.  All the "Promise me, Ned" stuff goes unresolved.  Ugh.  It annoys me just thinking about it.  All those wasted "who are jon's parents" hints.  >:(

I was thinking about picking up a second Rex to make a 'removable helmet' version using an old clone head sculpt and helmet.

Then I remembered that these figures are hard to find at a retail store and cost $13 each.  Plan abandoned.   :P

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: San Diego Comic-Con 2015
« on: June 11, 2015, 02:46 PM »
I'm wondering if it'll be that big/broad of a line, since super hero lines for movies seemed sort of watered down, at least compared to Star Wars lines.

The scale/scope of the line will be interesting to see...
- will there be just 5POA and 6"; or 5POA, 3.75" SA, and 6"?
- How will they break up character selection across the two scales (3.75" and 6")?
- Will the line run all the way into next Fall and then roll over into Rogue One or will it have to take the "Marvel Summer" off like the line has done the past few years?

At this point, after months and months of "no comment" from Hasbro, I'm more interested in finally learning about what we'll be getting (3.75" 5POA and/or 3.75" Collector), how much it's going to cost us ($8 vs $15), and what the quality will be at those prices (deco, accessories, etc).

The actual character selection of the figures is kinda secondary to all that since we all know the first few waves will have the main characters and Stormtrooper variants galore. :P

I think the colors and art are nice too, though not what the regular line will look like, no?

Right.  The fancy box/packaging is what is exclusive to SDCC, not the figure.  I'm sure the basic Stormtrooper will be issued in droves this Fall.

The regular 6" line look was shown at Celebration - black/red box:

The first Hasbro action figure from The Force Awakens will be this 6-inch figure from the toy manufacturer’s Black Series of collectibles. As part of a Comic-Con exclusive, the packaging will be unique to the San Diego gathering, and only a limited number will be available for sale afterward via HasbroToyShop.com. It’s recommended for ages 4 and up, with a pricetag of $24.99.

Moment of Silence for Count Dooku and Saruman.   He lived a full and amazing life and has hundreds of acting credits but he'll always be these two characters for me.

When I was a kid I loved all things James Bond, so I'd have to add Scaramanga, the Man with the Golden Gun, to the list to complete my Christopher Lee character-trinity.

I want to see a 6-7 game series, not interested in seeing a Cup Final sweep. :P

Thank you Tampa and Chicago for making things interesting so far.  Bishop drama, Toews finally waking up, The triplets tripleting, etc.  Been a good run so far.

Meanwhile, on the "ugh, not this again" channel - Glendale sucks.  It's way past time for the Coyotes to go.  Maybe they only have to go as far as Scottsdale, maybe as far as Quebec.  But, it's obvious it's more than past the time they need to leave Glendale once and for all.

From SW.com:
"look for some exclusive Star Wars: The Force Awakens products at SDCC, and be sure to check out EW.com tomorrow for details."

SDCC 6" First Order Stormtrooper announcement time?  We've already seen the figure and the box, why not finally announce it. :P
