Other Collectibles / Re: Playskool Galactic Heroes Thread
« on: April 15, 2005, 11:46 AM »
Just an observation after being out figure shopping this week, but at least here in town the first wave of the ROTS Galactic Heroes (Obi/Grievous, Anakin/Dooku, Yoda/Sidious) are all over the place.

I'll second that one...

At all the stores I frequent, the GH pegs are either empty (Target) or so stuffed with RotS Wave 1 that they'll never have anything else (TRU and Wal-MArt).

In other words, no luck finding Kit Fisto or Super Battle Droid or RotS Clone sets yet.  :(

An update on the front page about the new sections and a plug about chewies story being here would be really good for buisness. ;)

I kid! I kid Jedidefender.com! But seriously, this is my favorite SW site, and I'd like to see Chewie's hard work get a little more attention from people who have maybe never even looked in the customs section.

New Photo Novel Forum Mentioned on the Front Page

If you guys want to drop me a line when something new is posted in the Photo Novel forum, I'll see what I can do about posting a news item...

Does anyone know when this figure will be available for order?

I hesitated with the holographic emperor and don't want to miss this one.  I wonder if this figure will be in OTC packaging?

If it follows the trend of last year, the figure will first be available at the big Summer conventions - WizardWorld, SDCC, etc.  Then, once the con season is over (August/September), the figure will go up on StarWarsShop.com to Hyperspace members first.

At least that's how it went for last year's Silver Sandtrooper and the Silver Fett the year before that, so I imagine it will be pretty much the same thing here...

Ricardo picked up a few of the Army Builder figures I was selling.

Another quick, easy, painless transaction here at JD.com!  Payment was sent lightning fast and it was mailed the day he said it was, no BS here!

Your figures will be out in the mail soon!

Thanks again, Ricardo!

St. Louis beating my Wings in the playoffs?  Yup, definitely not realistic.

Now, now, don't worry.  It was only game one and it was in 3OT.  I seem to remember the Ducks doing the same thing to the Wings a few years ago...  ;)

Celebration III: Indianapolis / Re: Lucas to attend CIII
« on: April 14, 2005, 04:24 PM »
Good lord. I wonder how early people are going to get in line. This could be very interesting.

Yeah, I'm alrady hearing about people planning to camp out that night...  :o

I'll probably give it a shot, and try to catch him, but honestly, it won't be the end of the world if I don't see him.  I have a hard enough time trying to digest McCallum's lame excuses for all sorts of Star Wars nonsense...  ;)

Here, I'll give you all the questions he's going to get:

Fanboy: "Episodes 7-9?  blah blah blah?"
Lucas: "No."

Fanboy: "SW on TV?"
Lucas: "Wait and See."

Fanboy: "WTF was up with JarJar?"
Lucas: *shrug*

Fanboy: "WTF?  Greedo shot first? No way!"
Lucas: "This was how I always wanted it"

McCallum: "Thanks for all your questions, but we're out of time!  Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out and don't forget to buy more stuff!"

There, now you can just pretend like you were there!   :P

I'm with you though - if I make it in there, fine.  If not, that's fine too.  After all, I'm a SW fan, not a George Lucas fan.  I respect him and everything for giving us SW, but that's about all the further it goes... I honestly don't know what I'd say if I got to meet him...

Jeff: "Um, do you like remember when you wrote SW?"
Lucas: "Yes."

*creepy silence*

Jeff: "Yeah, uh Star Wars is Cool."
Lucas: "Yeah."

The 2005 JediDefender Nintendo GameCube Stanley Cup Playoffs are here!

Last night's scores...

Eastern Conference:

Tampa Bay 3, Montreal 1
A great PK squad help the Defending Champs beat the Habs who go 0 for 7 on the Power Play...

Philiadelphia 2, Toronto 0
The Flyers take a 1-0 lead into the final minute and get a junk empty-netter with 28seconds left to seal game 1...

Western Conference:

St. Louis 1, Detroit 0 - 3OT
Of course, it's the playoffs so somebody had to go into OT.  The Blues pull out a late goal in the 3rd OT to ice game 1...

Colorado 3, Minnesota 2
The beloved Wild fell behind quickly thanks to a pair of Avalance goals from Sakic and Forsberg in the first 3 minutes of the first period, but they stayed with the big-bad Avalanche the rest of the way...

Dallas 4, Vancouver 1
Dallas goes 3 for 4 on the Power Play in the first period and coasts from there as Vancouver was never really in it

Woot!   :P

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS Recent Purchases
« on: April 13, 2005, 09:43 PM »
Found a pile of new figures tonight at Kohl's! I picked up 1x each of the following:

#35 Palpatine w/RED Saber
#37 Vader's Chopper Droid
#38 AT-TE Gunner
#39 Polis Massan
#40 Mas Amedda

I gladly bought them despite the price -  $6.99 seems a bit steep, but really only $1 more than Target/TRU ($5.99).

Ugh.  He is creepy looking...  :-\

Ever talk to him?

I'd love to know what the story is with that weird hat he's got.

Looks kinda like a flasher, or something...

I have actually talked to him a few times.  He is hyper-obsessed with the Ice Cream Maker Guy from The Empire Striikes Back.  It's all he ever wants to talk about.

"Do you think they'll ever make ICMG (pronounced i-cee-em-gee)?"
"I heard on-line that they're gonna finally make ICMG!"
"Man I wish ICMG was gonna be the C3 exclusive."

There is this one creepy collector in my area named "Scott".

He is always buying the rare and HTF figures from the stores before I can find them.  >:(

Anyway, this dude is seriously tall - almost freakishly tall - and he gives the store clerks the strangest looks.  Here, I happened to snap a picture of him once:

I'm getting creeped out right now just remembering it... :-\

The one about Creepy Collector Sightings?

It was moved from the RotS Figure Forum to Watto's.

http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=7149.0

We figured it was about more than just RotS figures, so it was moved to the general discussion of Watto's.
