Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Clone 3-pk ...does it suffice?

Nice find Jadesfire.

I found a yellow set the other day too; all I can say is this set is awesome too!  Wow!!

How many Jedi sets does everyone have?  I've got two of them now, and am going to customize one set.  I think that I'll pop off the head off the blue Twilek and make him another Nikto or something...

Star Wars Dioramas and Displays / DIORAMA IMPROVEMENTS THREAD
« on: September 20, 2003, 02:38 PM »
I thought it might be cool to have a thread that we can talk about ways we have improved our dioramas, maybe we can help each other out here on this when we come up with new ideas, or want to share old secrets that we have.

Well, I finally caved in on Wednesday and ordered a mass number of REAL STANDS for my Battle Droid Army.  This might have been one of the smartest decisions I have ever made for my Star Wars collection.  I received my stands today in the mail, I just wish I had ordered them months ago...

As it stands, I now have an army of 40 red Battle Droids.  That includes about 15 of the ones from the accessory sets, who have a very difficult time standing on their own, or even with the one-pegged Star Wars stands that come with the 4-pk figures.

So I finally got the REAL STANDS version, and what a difference it makes.  They have two pegs per stand, and they have finally saved my sanity (so far at least).

I have some other tips that are a bit more original than this in improving dioramas, and I'll go into them more a little later.

Any ideas you all want to share?  Anyone have any pics you want to share?

Great points there guys.  I really can't make a 100% judgement yet until I have the Clone multi-pk with the yellow Clone in it.

Hmmm... which does everyone like more?

I have found several of each color now of the multi-pk army-builders, and like them a lot.  But now that I have luckily found the Clone War Value pks too, I find myself leaning towards them somewhat.  They are so freaking awesome.

Both are a great value; both are very cool and great ideas by Hasbro.  Both should be very successful.  They blend in great together too in dioramas.

Question though, which Clones do you prefer?

I found these today, they were in the regular STAR WARS section, double pegged in the spot where the SAGA figures can be found.  I think a lot of these will show up on on sidepanels though on the endcaps.

Great value here, absolutely NO complaints.  I am most pleased with these and Hasbro's decision here.

I just hope that 2004 is better than 2003.   >:(

My Anakin is still carded, but from just looking at this figure I must say that I am most impressed with it.  It's a great figure, probably the best one made yet of the soon-to-be Dark Lord.

If you open any figures at all, I suggest opening this one.  It's just too cool to keep confined in that box! ;)

Saga '02-'04 / Re: New Cantina Figure on the Way!!!!!

Interesting.  Hopefully before it's all said and done, we will see every character from the cantina immortalized in plastic.

Congrats on your find!  Aren't they just awesome!!!

I could go for Stormie pks as well, Scout Trooper pks. etc, etc, etc...

I ran across another Blue set today... somehow I managed to pass on it (maybe since it was $14.99 at Kay-Bee).  I think that two of those sets are enough for me; I really want a few more green sets though, many more all white sets and a few yellow sets when they come available.

Holy cow, tonight I decided to try my little customizing idea on these with a Green Clonetrooper.  I put his upper body on the legs of the Clone in the extended stance.  This looks so cool, I wish I had pics to show you guys!! :o

Dang... KB is selling stuff on ebay now?  Guess they are very desperate, or are very smart...

Anyway, I think that charging a few bucks more for a hot product like these are is actually pretty smart.  Yes, it does suck for us, but I'm not too sure I blame them at this point.

Personally, I blame it on Hasbro.  If they'd just make the things in sufficient quantities, noone would go through this bullsh!t.  But oh no, they ship in low quantities, and they produce just as many Droid Launchers and Clone 3-pks, and totally shortpack the super cool Jedi set.  Dumb!!!

The Secret Ceremony version is definitely pretty cool.  I wish they'd done him with interchangable hands, though.  One robotic, one flesh.  But hey, that's me.

Simple solution (but I do agree with you)...

- cut off his right hand
- drill a hole into the wrist going directly into the forearm
- boil and pop the right hand off a SAGA/POTJ Fleet Trooper
- insert the new hand onto the Anakin

This works out perfectly.  Try it!! :)

Thanks Dustrho!  It really works out well.  I can't wait to get some more of these bad boys to do a little more customizing...

Anyone else try this yet?

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Durge & Clone Trooper with Speeder Bike Pic
« on: September 3, 2003, 12:57 AM »
Holy hell!

Durge does look awesome, as does that Speederbike.  I will probably be passing on the Clonetrooper version, but I do like the paint scheme on that Speederbike...
