Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Best Restaurant In Your Town

If you are ever in Albany, go to Jack's Oyster House.  Its down-town, down the hill from the Capital building.  My brother is one of the chefs there.  Plus all the high-power stuffed-suit politicians and lobbyists eat there.  Nice atmosphere, but a bit on the pricey side for a town like Albany.

While we were watching AOTC we got to the arena scene where two Jedi toss lightsabers to Anakin and Obi-Wan.  Anyone remember who those cameo actors are?  I thought they were from a 90s boyband, but my wife didn't recognize them and I couldn't remember who they were.  Anyone know?

Watched AOTC the other night and a couple things kinda stuck out.

When they are in the droid factory, why do Padme and Anakin seem to run away from each other.  I know Padme does the whole obsticle course thing with the machines, and the Geonosians attack Anakin, but it seems like they really didn't make a lot of effort to move towards each other.  Like Anton's comment about Anakin's reaction, a tiny little thing added to this scene would make it more believeable, like Padme being chased by a Geonosian the whole time, or Anakin telling her to head toward the exit and he'll get the control room, something....

I felt bad for Ewan MacGregor, watching him interact with the Kaminoans was a little tough.  Clearly talking to a CGI character hasn't been refined to the level of creating that CGI character.  I didn't really like the scene at Deks diner either, seemed to have the same stunted feel, where it needed a little more fleshing out.

Plagueis was not as powerful as Palpatine, which is why once Palpy learned all he could from Plagueis, he killed Plagueis.

Palpy killed Plagueis in his sleep, hence the line in ROTS about how the only person he couldn't keep from dying was himself and his apprentice killed him in his sleep.  The reason that Palpy didn't "fight fairly" is because that's not what the sith do.  They are only concerned with power, not justice, so any time they fight it would be to destroy.  They aren't concerned with making sure its a fair fight, hence why Palpy would kill his master is his sleep, because that's about as unfair as possible.  Palpy wouldn't want to test himself, instead he waited until he was strong enough to defeat his master, so he could become the master.  Sith win power through deceit and subterfuge, they don't win through the strength of arms.

The idea that the Sith would stand on a field of battle and clash with their enemy was destroyed with the Brotherhood of Darkness.  In its place Bane institituted the rule of two.  A master and an apprentice.  One to embody power, the other to crave it.  Basically the master has the power, and he teaches parts of it to his apprentice, but hopefully not enough so his apprentice eclipses him.  However when the apprentice does, he kills the master and takes his place.  He does this because since now he's stronger, he wants the power for himself.  He then takes a new apprentice and starts the process over.  And of course the apprentice is necessary because the master doesn't have the ability to live forever, remember its a power only one has attained, and clearly there was so problem with it because Plagueis kept Palpy around even after he had the power to sustain life.

Read Path of Destruction and Rule of Two, they explain all of this a lot better.

How did Target flub this so badly?  They offer a coupon online, don't limit its use or distribution and then don't even limit it to the areas of the store it specifies.  Seems like they didn't really think it through.

LEGO / Re: Lego Star Wars models that deserve a repack

I know it was an exclusive, but I never got the Red Ep 3 Jedi Fighter.  They could do it as a variation on the Jedi Starfighter pack with the hyperspace ring.  Not that LEGO does repaints.

i liked how he was walk/running to the register with them, knocking stuff of the shelves as he goes.  I'm thinking, 5 year olds don't get this excited over a toy...

On the bright side, the box was almost large enough to use as shelter when I arrived home, too bad it rained this weekend. ;)

5 of 6 have armored cavalry.

Ep1. Federation Tanks
Ep2. At-te
Ep3. At-te
Ep4. None
Ep5. At-At
Ep6. At-At

Was at a Target saturday and saw a couple of these sale items.  They had a ton of the order 66 packs, but I have a complete set so I passed.  They had two of the Rancor packs for $19.98 a piece, but I didn't have the money to spend on then, so I walked passed them.  Later, my Wife was in the magazine/computer game isle and an older guy comes practically running through with the two Rancors and a hand basket of other toys.  He was in such a rush to get these he was knocking stuff off the shelves.  I'm sure his plan was to get to the next Target, so I understand what he was thinking, its still funny to see an adult in such a rush for toys.

I've seen it noted other places that the basic figures are on sale too, but they were regular price, along with the Mighty Muggs and I think the comic packs.  Though i think the Muggs are carrying the same packaging through the Legacy/Clone Wars line.

I have the feeling the retailers wouldn't want to do this because of competitive reasons.  Behind the Customer Service Desk at Walmart (I read it while waiting to return something) is their policy that although guests are welcome, if they catch you doing anything that could be construed as checking prices or inventories for a competitor, that they reserve the right to kick you out.  If you can't do that in the store, what makes you think they'll put their inventory online for their competition as well as the public to see?
