Saw these on Entertainment Earth just now and they have the figures available for preorder for $22 each. I hope they offer a case because I really do want all of these even if I prefer the TAS designs over the simpler TNBA designs.

Gonna do my best to see them at ACL, especially if I can get press passes through work. They added the second weekend last year and tickets were really cheap since it's almost too much... hopefully that's the case again this year.

I caught Godzilla last week... I enjoyed the parts with Bryan Cranston and the final 20 minutes but man did the middle blow. The guy who plays the main character reeeeeeeally needs to rethink a career in Hollywood.

Worst part: The scene set in 1999 that features a kid playing with a 2004 LEGO Snowspeeder. Do they REALLY think they can get away with BS like that?

LEGO / Re: Recent Acquisitions

Yeah, people have been snagging the SSD everywhere it's sold. It's always been that way with LEGO though. Anytime there are rumors of a set's retirement, people go crazy (see the Jabba's Palace thing last year when stores sold out of the set because of the mosque controversy). Some people have been saving up for the SSD since it came out, and want one before it's gone, while scalpers see the dollar signs.

Just as long as they don't hire the guy who did Guy Pearce's makeup in Prometheus. Blech.

Word is that the SSD was quietly retired, so whatever is left out there is it.

I picked up the Sail Barge and one of the Imperial Guards battle packs today. Sail Barge was on sale for something like 10% off, and though I originally decided to buy the Ewok Village, I ended up going with the cheaper option. Also got the free Revan minifig.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Spider-Man Movie Series

Caught it this morning. I liked the parts that didn't involve Spider-Man in costume or Electro. Imagine if the films that built up the Avengers were combined into one 2.5 hour movie, but with the Sinister Six, and that's what ASM2 is. Better than the last one at least.

MVP of the film is the guy who played Harry.

Picked up another $20 worth today, mostly duplicates that I'll have to trade away.

Today was the official launch date, so I swung by a local Target and grabbed a few blindly. Ended up with 2 Barts, Homer, Maggie, Nelson, Itchy and Flanders. Along with my TRU haul from last week this gives me 9 of the 16, and I have a few duplicates (and other duplicates from the last few series) that I should be able to trade either here or on Reddit for a complete set.

That's one of the things I'm kind of digging about the announced cast, they all have an OT "look" to their faces. Throw some makeup and weird plastic ears on horseface Driver and he'll fit right in to the cantina.

I have no idea who any of those people are outside of Serkis, so yay?

And maybe Adam Driver is actually a decent actor when not waist deep in **** written by Lena Dunham. Can't be any worse than Hayden as Anakin.

This is such a mess. Remember how Marvel carefully planned out Phase 1 of the Avengers and created storylines for the standalone films that all wound up tying together? This is pretty much the opposite; DC throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks. Has anyone at DC realized that they're just a few characters away from this next Superman movie actually being a Justice League movie? Not to mention that there are still conflicting reports as to whether this is actually a Batman vs. Superman movie or just "Superman, also featuring Batman and other characters." Add to that the unenthusiastic reactions by the general public to the casting decisions so far, and we're looking at another dud.

Star Wars Universe / Re: Disney to Purge Select EU
« on: April 29, 2014, 12:11 AM »
As I said in my original post, I'm still fine with this, but it is kind of sad to see EU as a whole basically gone. Plus, nothing says we still can't pick and choose which EU material to follow. :P
