Looking through all the pics yesterday and today, and there is some stuff I really like.  I know many will be bummed about everything being 5 POA, and the lack of a "BMF" style Falcon - and I am too - but I also sort of like how this is a "toy" line that should be fun for kids.  As my daughter and I have been looking forward to the Force Awakens (she is particularly excited about Rey), I've been telling her how I think it is so cool that this will sort of be her trilogy, the way the OT was for me.  She is very near the same age as I was growing up with Star Wars, and its kind of neat that this generation of kids will have their own Star Wars movie(s) like we did.

The toys are much the same.  I know we've moved past what we got in our vintage line, with technology and paint apps, etc., but this Force Awakens line does seem very vintage-esque in many ways.  Sure, bottom line is, a lot of the decisions are made due to cost, but it is also neat to see a line with the Falcon as the "big ticket item", and a good assortment of figures characters that are durable and ready for play.  A good assortment of vehicles and play value, and hopefully - above all else - fun.

Now, I do still sort of hope we see the more articulated figures at some point (maybe as a store exclusive as rumored), but for the basic line I think this is alright too.  As long as these figures can actually sit in their vehicles (which is the biggest sticking point to me with losing that articulation), it should be fun.   I know I'll be picking up a lot of it, and looking forward to those 6" figures as well, and I'll continue to hold out hope that we'll see some more articulated 3 3/4" versions of these characters down the road as well - or at least the big guns and troopers.

I'm a little surprised at how many repacks we're seeing here as well, but I guess resources were devoted more to the other segments of the line.  That being said, at least this is an assortment where we're seeing a nice mix of the entire saga, and that could mean we'll see more newness here in the future.  I'm in for the new ones (Vader/Ahsoka, Thug/Scavenger/BB-8, and R2/3PO).

Although I would have rather seen a modified BMF as well, looking at these pictures, I kind of like it too.  Granted, it is very much a "toy" for the kiddos, but I don't think that's a bad thing.  It looks like you can switch things out to make it look "normal", and there are a lot of neat little details in there as was mentioned already.

I think that the days of the hyper detailed collector type vehicles (like the BMF, the AT-AT, the AT-TE, etc.) might be done - or at least hibernated.  With a new movie coming each year, and likely a new line to accompany it, we're probably going to see more kid-focused stuff for the line in general, and that's probably how it should be.  Hasbro really want the 6" stuff to be "for us", so that's probably where we'll see them go all out with figures and vehicles for now (depending on how the giant TIE does this year).  I know I'll be picking up this Falcon, it looks fun and something fun for my daughter to play with as well.

Nice to finally get a look at something from the 3 3/4" line, surprised nothing had leaked yet. That said, these two look pretty nice really. Better than I expected. It might just be seeing something new after the drabness of the Black Series, but I like the individual character picture card backs a lot too.  I'd rather have a little more articulation as well, but will still pick these up if I can. I'd also skip the build-a and save a dollar or two as well. I still remember the glory days of $5 ROTS figures, maybe sales will help us get closer.

I tried and failed again this year. Was hoping to pick up this and the First Order trooper, but both were gone too quickly. Honestly this set was my top priority since we should at least get another crack at that trooper. I'll have to keep checking over the next week or so, fingers crossed

I got the EE Guardians pack and the next wave of Spidey Legends (Rhino) this week.  To me, this line is continuing to be great this year.  It has been much more difficult to keep up with so many waves in the past few months, but at the same time I'm not complaining.  Cool to get the Guardians in comic form, as well as characters like Misty Knight, Chameleon (with the alternate heads), a new Kraven, etc.  Haven't gotten the Hulkbuster wave yet, but I think aside from exclusive packs, that should be it for the year?  I wasn't sure, but I think the Absorbing Man and Red Onslaught waves were coming in 2016, according to Comic Con, which I guess could mean the end of the year too.

Got the Force Awakens teaser poster via that Disney Movie Rewards program last week.  To be honest, I hadn't ever done anything with those "points" until hearing about the poster offer, and they are actually pretty cool.  Between the Marvel, Pixar, and various Disney movies we had picked up anyways, we had plenty of points to get both this poster and the Ant Man movie poster as well - shipped to our house for free.  I'm looking forward more to the first "art" poster that we'll see, but this was still pretty cool.

Headed to eBay, mods please delete post. Thanks!

Modern Classifieds / For Sale: Carded Vintage Collection Figures
« on: July 21, 2015, 04:31 PM »
Going through the collection this summer and I've got some things to sell if anyone is interested.  First up is a batch of carded vintage collection figures from a time when I thought I was going to try to have a complete carded set of these (I later stuck to only OT).  Price is $7 each (not including shipping) and if you are only interested in the figure I can sure open them as well.  If you decide you want the entire lot, I'll take care of the shipping costs.  Otherwise, shipping is not included in the prices listed and is based on weight.  PayPal is preferred. I should be listing more stuff soon, and hope to add pictures.  If interested, please contact me via PM.  Check me out in the feedback thread here:;action=display;threadid=1891  Thanks for looking!

Really like the new Legends stuff shown this weekend again.  I've pretty much gotten to the point where I'm all in with this line anymore, at least over the past couple years, and hope to continue that from here on out.  Hasbro had a rocky start with the Legends stuff, but it really seems like they are knocking it out of the park on the newer waves.  The new Spidey wave looks great, plus the other peeks that were shown like Mockingbird, Namor, Taskmaster, etc.  And hey, we actually know what's coming out in this line ;).

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: San Diego Comic-Con 2015

Great points Jeff, my feelings as well.  I'm really starting to get hyped for the movie at this point, and want to feel the same way about the toys, but there's just nothing there.  Like it has been mentioned, it would have been nice if they were allowed to at least show off the characters/things already seen in trailers or officially released stuff.  The new "big 3", Han/Chewie, or something along those lines.  Or, if nothing else, some explanation of what is on the "12-24 figures in the Saga Legends style, 6 new Black Series figures, this number of vehicles, etc."  We've seen retailer lists and all of that, but it would just be nice to have something more to go on.  I'm guessing we'll at least see some sort of information release maybe via Hasbro's official channels online or something?  Hopefully.

I'll admit that it does look pretty cool, and I have been collecting the OT 6" stuff so far and planned to pick up the Force Awakens as well.  But the price (and space it will take up) might keep me away.  It really depends on what the rest of the line looks like, and we just don't know at this point.  If there is little to nothing out for 3 3/4" (or it isn't something I'm interested) I might be able to justify this.  But again, there's the space issue.  Looks cool though.  I kind of dig the designs from this movie that we've seen so far.

Although the little of what was shown looked very nice (looking forward to those new 6" figures), I have to say that I was disappointed there wasn't at least a little more.  For the last 3-4 conventions, where all Hasbro could say was "we can't talk about Fall 2015 or beyond", they seemed to give the impression or even straight out said "wait until SDCC".  Was this seriously what we were holding our breath for? The giant TIE (while really cool) wasn't quite the reveal I thought we'd get.  I thought we would at least see the finished figures for Rey, Finn, etc. that were leaked months ago in prototype form.

I can understand having secrecy going into the movie as well, and don't even mind that to some extent, but it would be nice to have an idea what the line will look like for budgeting and all of that.  I know not everyone has to do that, but I know that I do, and its nice to have an idea of what's coming.  Plus, I think that any character that has been shown in the trailers could have been shown in toy form.  So, for example, if the 3 3/4" is going to be 5 POA or whatever, show us a Rey, Finn, and Poe so we can get an idea of what they're going to look like.  They are starting to run out of chances to promote this prior to Sept 4 (not that they necessarily need to), and it would be nice to get a look at at least a few things.  That being said, it might be out of Hasbro's hands on this one too.

Yeah, it is Ulik not sure what happened there. See now, I'd like it see Cosmo, but not necessarily on his own.  Some of them, like Black Spidey and Mysterio already have decent figures. I'd rather see some of those you listed, like Tigra or Jocasta. Some of the others are a little more boring.
