Went looking for the 3 3/4" exclusive wave at Wal-Mart this morning, and happened across Wave 5 (Han, Jango, FN-2187, Flametrooper) which was a nice surprise. Also found the Emperor's Wrath Vader at Walgreens, so pretty good morning.

I found a few of these at our local Walgreens today as well.  Glad to see them, since I missed the online orders late last year.

Read a few different articles on this today, but apparently Dc may be planning another line-wise reboot this summer:

Some of the rumors are that they will try to bring things more in line with their now growing movie (and tv) universe, and characters outside of that may not get as much attention.  Also rumors of Scott Snyder leaving Batman after 5 plus years, as that title will be going to twice a month and be more tied in with the DCU (he may be heading to Detective Comics though).  I don't read a lot of DC since the last reboot, I started off with a lot of titles but have now dwindled down to just Batman, the Flash, and Justice League.

I haven't had any luck with these locally, but Pete_Fett was kind enough to help me out with a set of Rey/Poe/Finn.  They arrived yesterday, and boy are they pretty.  It really is too bad that this can't be a "wide" line, instead of an exclusive, but I guess at least we are getting them somehow.

I was ok with the 5 POA line, I thought they looked pretty good and appreciate the "toyness" of them as well, in a vintage sort of way (plus our daughter has been having a blast with them), but looking at these was a big reminder of the quality figures Hasbro can put out when they really go all out.  I definitely hope we continue getting them in some way, but it really is too bad that it couldn't be the "regular" line.  Still not crazy about the pricepoint, and wish it could get more in the $10 range at the least, but they sure are nice figures, I'll say that.

Pete was kind enough to help me out with some of those pesky WM exclusive Black Series figures.  They sure are a thing of beauty, and haven't been spotted anywhere nearby me, so I really appreciate the help.  Thanks again!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Too Much Stuff?
« on: January 15, 2016, 03:30 PM »
It's funny, I started this topic originally back in 2005, now we're closing in on 11years later and it is still an issue. I've been taking some time this week to actually find space for the Force Awakens stuff I've bought and it has me evaluating things again. I have actually been doing better lately with actually getting rid of stuff, selling off between 100 and 150 figures from various lines on eBay, but there is still a space crunch. Add to that the no end in sight situation of the movies, and it will continue to be an issue. I've narrowed a number of lines down ( done with things like Joe and He-Man), but added things like the 6" Black Series and the occasional LEGO set.

It can be tough because I'm not the type who likes to just have stuff in totes/bins, because I figure if it is sitting there, I just as well sell it. Also, I like the more "clean" look for display, which gets tough when you are displaying 100s of figures, plus vehicles and all that. Anyways, does anyone else have this struggle, or are you cutting back or stopping with a number of lines or areas of interest?

Other Collectibles / Re: Hasbro Force FX Lightsabers
« on: January 15, 2016, 02:10 PM »
I'm not sure if this is quite the right thread for these, but does Hasbro still make the Ultimate FX sabers (the kid's size version of these?).  I know I've seen the Darth Vader/Anakin color change one off and on around Christmas, but that was about it.  Our daughter had a couple of these (Jedi Luke and Vader), but after the movie of course wanted "Rey's saber" - and we also wanted to get one for our nephew for his birthday, but didn't realize how tough they were to find at this point.  I see the Disney Store has some sort of lightsaber available online that looks at least similar, does anyone know anything about these otherwise?  Once you've had this version, those fold out/light up ones sort of pale by comparison.

Other Toy Lines / Re: 2016: What Are You Collecting?

Can't believe I forgot to mention it, but I'm also collecting the Batman:TAS stuff. I was doing it a wave at a time, but now pick them up as I can afford. Love the show, and the figures have been pretty great so far.

Like others, SA would be nice, but hoping for these either way:

1. Han Solo (Starkiller)
2. Luke Skywalker (Old Man Jedi)
3. General Leia Organa
4. Maz Kanata
5. Lor San Tekka
6. Kylo Ren (Unmasked)
7. Bala-Tik
8. Tasu Leech
9. Admiral Ackbar
10. B-U4D "Buford" (Resistance Loading Droid)

I was going through the Visual Dictionary, and there really are a lot of neat background characters that would be fun to have as well.  I'd also like to see (although it would be oversized for a basic figure) HURID-327 - the droid Han, Finn, Rey and BB walk past on the way into Maz's place.

I happened to find a TIE Pilot, General Hux, Snowtrooper, and Ello Asty at WM last weekend.  Just sitting on a shelf randomly away from the regular SW section, but I was happy to pick them up.  Really like the Snowtrooper design for this movie, and the TIE pilot is pretty nice too.

Thought this might be the best place to put this, but with Toy Fair not too far off now, what do you think the line will look like for 2016.  We'll most likely see some sort of ramp up when Rogue One gets closer, but do you think it will be mostly Force Awakens focused for the rest of the year?  Will we see any other vehicles get made?  I know larger vehicles are probably unlikely in an "off" year from the main trilogy, but its too bad things like Kylo Ren's shuttle and the First Order drop ships won't see toy form.  I was thinking that the vehicle line up in the Force Awakens was somewhat subdued, but I guess it isn't all that different from A New Hope.  We had a speeder (Luke's/Rey's), X-Wings, TIE Fighters, and the Falcon :).

Its that time of the year again.  I always like to update this to see what everyone is looking forward to this year.  I'm continuing to try to focus in on my collecting, at least as much as possible, and narrow down the number of different lines.  Looks very similar to the last few years:

Star Wars

Black Series 6" - All OT characters, all TFA characters, likely any Rebels characters.  PT on case by case.

Black Series 3 3/4" - If it continues at WM, I'm in for new stuff here too, again focusing on OT/TFA.

Basic Line (5 POA) - I'll continue on with TFA characters, and wait to see what else is included in 2016.

Marvel Legends (6") - I've been pretty complete on these in recent years, I'll likely continue.  Lots of good stuff here lately.  As far as the 3 3/4" line (which I guess is also called Legends now), I'll pick and choose.  The price has climbed on these so much, it is tough to pay $13 or more for each of these (especially when doing it with Star Wars as well).

I don't know if it is so much "collecting", but this is an area I share with our daughter just building all the sets and making our own little LEGO world.  She is way into TFA so we'll likely try to pick those sets up.  I like to focus on the OT sets, but am a little behind on sets from 2015 already.  Also buy some of the Marvel sets, and the odd other one off here or there.  Hope to continue, as LEGO - while pricey - sure is a lot of fun.

Otherwise, that's probably about it.  I may dip into some DC stuff here or there, we'll see.  I noticed reading online today that Mattel is going to have a "DC Multiverse" 6" line at retail, including stuff from TV like Flash/Arrow, as well as the movie and comic stuff, some of those might tempt.

So I'm wondering how this thing has done overall. To be honest, Target seems to be the only store here carrying it, and our store has been sitting on the same two for awhile now. I'll admit I was tempted when Amazon had the price drop, but things were too tight with Christmas. I keep checking/hoping for a clearance, but nothing yet.

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: Walmart Black Series 3.75" Wave 3

No sign of these here either, really hope I'm able to find them eventually. Plus, it is forcing me to go to Wal-Mart, which is never good.  I'm curious to see how far beyond this we will see this year.
